Sheesh do I ever get that.
Sheesh - WHEN does the criminality stop???
Don't forget the exorcist.
I hope so. But I can't get past the time when she took impeachment off the table.
So what it wound up meaning - for all of history - was that two war criminals walked away free as can be.
Never held fully accountable.
Never had to pay for what they did, how they lied about all the WMD that didnt exist but we still had to go to war over.
Never had to face the music about how many American forces died unnecessarily - for their lies and scare tactics.
And no marker was EVER left, no penalty EVER imposed, no example set or deterrence presented. No teachable moment about WHY you DONT do that shit!
I hope Im not asking, YET AGAIN, a few years from now - have we learned NOTHING????? Because last time, the only takeaway was that if you work it just right, you CAN get away with it (too).
I hope shes doing the right thing. But the ground I stand on, with that, is not at all solid. OR firm.
No kidding. And it's a damn shame.
EVERY TIME I take our dog out to poo,
I wind up adding litter to whatever winds up in her poo bag. EVERY DOGGONE TIME!
What is the matter with people? What is wrong with them that they can just drop their trash on the ground any old where and stroll off without picking it up?
EVERY DAMN TIME:
Candy wrappers
Cigarette butts
Plastic water bottles, and lids
Corners that are a ripped off wrappers of power bars and such
Those little plastic dental floss forks
Pull tabs
Cigarette pack cellophane wrappers
The occasional soda or beer can
The occasional glass bottle (usually beer)
Grocery store receipts
And more!
And thats just what a human carelessly dropped of their OWN. ALSO, what their dog leaves behind that they didnt bother picking up!
And I snark under my breath... who the hell brought you up?????
Okay, just being a curmudgeon here. But we've GOT. TO. HAVE. THE. TAX. RETURNS. PERIOD!!!
GOT TO!!!What a horrible precedent that - now, because trump never coughed up his, will in effect be cemented into place. When it's "already baked into the cake" - as the saying goes. Mitt Romney tried to, back in 2012. FINALLY relented and released his tax returns. But we've had solid NOs now for what likely will be TWO election cycles - 2016 AND 2020, where that bastard won't do it, unless he's forced to by either subpoena(s) or the Supreme Court he still thinks he owns now.
That trump has gotten away with it, and Bernie might try to also, makes me almost sick to my stomach. Now, future candidates will point to trump, or worse, "trump and Bernie. BOTH SIDES! BOTH SIDES!" And we'll be forever screwed after that. Nobody's gonna have to release their tax returns if Bernie tries to do it, too, AND succeeds. If he finally relents and does the right thing, then I give him a thumbs-up, and will be happy to say so. But if he stays stubborn, and locks that new precedent in place - (and you can imagine the yowls - "BOTH SIDES! BOTH SIDES!" , then we're screwed. And he, personally, will have done far more long-term, long-range damage to our democracy than maybe even trump. If trump is able to obstruct this, then he becomes an anomaly in the history books. An asterisk. But if Bernie does the same thing, he becomes the mortar cementing, together in place, all the bricks of this alternate kind of "wall" that trump laid in place. No candidate from then on can argue that - "well BOTH SIDES BOTH SIDES do it! Look at trump! Look at Bernie!" and LOSE that argument. It becomes just another one of those silly/screwy/push the far edges things that candidates can, and increasingly WILL, do.
So you don't care might actually "own" that candidate? He/She owes money to that person/entity/lobbyist/pressure-group? What if he/she can be blackmailed or arm-twisted in the shadows to do something that benefits exclusively one entity whose best interests defy or violate the law or acceptable leadership standards - to the maybe-severe detriment of a majority of Americans, if not all the rest of us?
WE HAVE TO HAVE THE TAX RETURNS, BERNIE. Seriously. You owe it to yourself. You owe it to all the people who believe in you and trust you and whose hearts you've securely won - many of them staying loyal since the last round began. You're gonna hear way too much of "what's he trying to hide?" And it's rightfully going to upset you, especially if you're actually hiding nothing. (And no, I have not ruled that out.) So come on, Senator. Do the right thing.
