And this great historical jewel will be restored. It’s a World Treasure.

Reports this morning say that if the firefighters had arrived even 15-or-so minutes later than they did, Notre Dame might not have survived.

That photo of the gleaming cross still standing amidst the darkness and smoke and rubble kinda says it all.

No kidding. trump called HIM?

And not because the donald needed more fawning and shameless compliments?

Hope you don't mind that we don't just take your word for it, donald.

I find it astonishing that so many people still do. Even now. After all the lies!!! They still cling to him. Desperately.

So what does that say about them - not to mention his incomprehensible hold on them?

I can’t find it in me right now. When it’s a self-inflicted wound for those who WILL NOT see? Despite all the evidence and debunking and fact-finding and fact-checking, his supporters WILL NOT see. We could give them workable eye transplants forcryingoutloud! And they STILL would not see.

The most unfortunate part of all this is that the rest of us who DID see and WEREN’T fooled still have to live with the consequences of the those who wouldn’t see and were fooled.

The priceless art and relics and statues - the historical significance - gifts to civilization. Of civilization. For, and by civilization. Notre Damn is a World Treasure. I’m so glad those heroic firefighters didn’t let the inferno take it from us.

Yesterday as I watched the coverage I kept thinking about the hell we’re already going through and thought - “and now THIS TOO, on top of everything...”

Those firefighters’ struggles basically told the world “NOPE. NOT this, too.”

Definitely! That's an outstanding idea.

I hope they do it. It’s almost handed to them on a silver plate.

Now that's how a REAL President is supposed to sound.

Empathy, compassion, and true class. I sure miss that.
