calimary's JournalNice!!! And tomatoes too?
Those are always best when homegrown. The depth of flavor be beat!
This is a terrific set-up you've got! Like all the contours and terraces. Really nice!!! Happy growing season! The gardenias are starting up again in the bushes across the street. And avocados beginning again a few doors down from there. NICE.
Another wonderful and thought-provoking post, sheshe2!
You always make me think - and give me stuff to think about.
It's ridiculously tiresome, isn't it, SoapBox!
SHEESH!!! That's what they all say.
What a complete CROCK!
Welcome to DU, BOTH of you! DirtyHippyBastard and also NEVER SUMMER!
Very glad you're both here! I am voting strictly for the Supreme Court picker. I happen to think it'll be Hillary. She's not perfect and I once chose Barack Obama over her precisely because of their differing stands on the Iraq War. Still, there's a lot I can live with, and quite a bit I actually like.
That said, if Bernie Sanders winds up with the nomination, I wouldn't have a complaint in the world. And I would - and I WILL - enthusiastically support him. The more I hear, the more I like. Wonder if they'd team up?
Even so, there remains a huge part of me that yearns to see a woman in charge, for a change. It's just time. And we finally have an experienced one available who's truly and objectively qualified. FORTY-FOUR Presidents of the United States in the not-so-lengthy life of this country, and they've ALL been men. With so much at stake that directly and even intimately involves the female population of this country - AND of this planet, for that matter - I am driven to send a woman up to bat for a change. I want the female mindset managing things. It's far more likely to bring more empathy to its approach. Harry Reid recently said that the biggest improvement he's noticed in all his years in the Senate was the influx of more women. There are 20 women in the Senate now. He said the women got more work done. Women were far more collegial, just on general principles. He said with the women it was always about "let's solve this problem" instead of the posturing and pulling political stunts and power plays and other assorted testosterone displays that can be seen all too frequently on the male side.
When I see what the predominantly male leadership in this country has done, despite women being in the majority, and I see the destructive, counterproductive, agenda-driven mess we've got on our hands, I just find myself saying "SHIT! We've GOTTA get a different mindset in here!" Quite simply, with women, dare I say it tends not to be about needing to prove how big one's dick is all the time.
Thanks! Viacom put a block on the clip here.
"Gun owners would still have to get a license to carry a handgun in a visible holster."
For NOW, anyway. I'm sure they're already working to rip the guts out of THAT particular regulation, too.
Maybe so, but this is one specimen who can't seem to stay out of trouble.
How many times has he been taken into custody or otherwise had to face some sort of legal issue since the Trayvon Martin tragedy? We have NOT seen or heard the last of this beast. His track record (and his karma, too, I'd bet) will see to that.
But the closer it is, the easier it is to steal.
And you bet your sweet bippy they'll try to do it again next year. They pulled it off in 2000 and 2004, so they know how it's done. And I bet our side remains blissfully asleep at the switch.
