About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

DAYUM, does that ever nail it.

I'll never forget it, either. Total betrayal.

THIS ^^^^^^^

Really rude and disrespectful. We already know they hate the TPP. And they hate Hillary, and they hate ... blah-blah-blah. ENOUGH. They don't understand how counter-productive this kind of acting-out is. It doesn't make the object of your outrage look bad. It makes YOU look bad! Enough with the misbehaving. Show some respect. Try acting like the adults your drivers' licenses say you are.

Why the hell not?

I was surprised to hear Chuck Todd bring that up today. How historic this convention is, for that exact reason. I do believe this is the FIRST time I've ever heard him mention that. First time I ever remember him mentioning that. Oh, it's just a woman. Meh - not that important. No big deal.

It's Freakin' HISTORIC, you jerk!

A most worthy point.

Aw fuck. Is that what they're saying?

Being rude to Cory Booker, too, 'eh? Elijah Cummings wasn't enough for 'em?

Actually I think they're shouting "Black Lives Matter." Even so, please let the speakers speak! During Cory Booker? Seriously?

Sheesh I wish people there would show respect.

I am sad to have to suggest that it's because he's getting old.

The voice warbles a little more. He's 74. (Born October 13, 1941). I LOVED that choice of song, especially on a day like this - "Bridge Over Troubled Water", and that got me all choked up, but seeing and hearing him, and yeah, he's getting older, that made me cry. I'm getting older too. All those years ago - sheesh. SUCH bittersweet feelings.

Thank you SO MUCH, sweet Sarah!

Thank You! What a breath of fresh air! I think every last soul in that convention center needed to hear her remarks.

Amazing, wasn't it?! S&G provided much of the soundtrack to my teens.

Cat Stevens, Elton John, Beatles and Stones, and Simon & Garfunkel. I cried. Shit. He's getting old, too.

And then Sarah Silverman! Who's usually hilarious but she was outstanding tonight! And Al Franken thrown in, too!?!? Bliss! I'm starting to feel a little better already!

That was Freakin' FABULOUS!

Good for her!

She sure jerked the narrative back to reality. With three words. Women. They should be in charge!

Yep. Still makes my teeth grit. The so-called "Brooks Brothers Riot."

Buncha white dudes and one young white woman, with and without suit jackets, mobbing the place where the vote was being counted, and banging on the glass doors and shouting, fists shaking in the air, and trying to be as bullying and intimidating as possible. There were maybe a dozen or more middle-aged and old people in there, trying to do that tedious scut work and I can only guess that ruckus on the other side of the glass must have been quite terrifying. What a disgrace that was!

It later turned out that this mob was wall-to-wall Congressional staffers - staff people for republi-CON representatives. This was a manufactured "protest." But the visuals couldn't be beat. Point made. Details later - maybe. And by the time we got details, it was too late. And nobody really gave a damn.
