About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

The speech that launched a thousand bumper stickers!

Uh YEAH.

From Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo (bold emphasis is mine):

Let's start with the basic facts. There is a lot of Russian money flowing into Trump's coffers and he is conspicuously solicitous of Russian foreign policy priorities.

I'll list off some facts.

1. All the other discussions of Trump's finances aside, his debt load has grown dramatically over the last year, from $350 million to $630 million. This is in just one year while his liquid assets have also decreased. Trump has been blackballed by all major US banks.

2. Post-bankruptcy Trump has been highly reliant on money from Russia, most of which has over the years become increasingly concentrated among oligarchs and sub-garchs close to Vladimir Putin. Here's a good overview from The Washington Post, with one morsel for illustration ...
Since the 1980s, Trump and his family members have made numerous trips to Moscow in search of business opportunities, and they have relied on Russian investors to buy their properties around the world.
“Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Trump’s son, Donald Jr., told a real estate conference in 2008, according to an account posted on the website of eTurboNews, a trade publication. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”

Don't forget "The richest thing about Donald Trump is his hypocrisy."

"Risky, Reckless, and Radical!"

"Trump wants to run the nation like he runs his business? God Help Us!"

Oh shit -

Now Lenny Kravitz. Could this night get any better????

Well, yeah, it could and it will. We have Tim Kaine and President Obama coming up. Evidently the President is the closer. Which will be FUCKING AWESOME. As usual.

And it has been pegged to "the left."

People from "the left." Shit. That doesn't do ANY of us any good. Makes Bernie look bad, but beyond that, it makes US ALL look bad.

And Leon Panetta was THE point-making guy tonight who was gonna bring up the Trump/Russian thing from this morning. And those jerks just would NOT cooperate.

I suspect our President will do just fine.

And the folksy stuff we'll get from Tim Kaine - I suspect he'll do just fine, too.

Uh-HUH!!! "I'm a New Yorker and I know a con man when I see one!"

"The richest thing about Donald Trump is his hypocrisy!"

DAYUM! "Sane Competent Leadership" from Hillary, and Trump is a "Risky, Reckless, and Radical choice"!

He's doing GREAT!

"I'm a New Yorker and I know a con man when I see one!"

"Hillary Clinton understands that this is not reality television. This is reality!"

GREAT stuff. Bumper sticker worthy!

Makes a very strong and credible appeal to independents. He ROCKED!

And the ratings are GOOD!

Better than what the other guys got last week at this time!

Not necessarily. He's making some gooooooood points.

"I built a good business. But I didn't start out with a million dollar check from my father!"

"We need a President who is a problem-solver, not a bomb-thrower."

This is good stuff.

Good. I hope nobody fixates on it.

And I bet you nailed it - I, too, think the "USA - USA - USA" business was started to drown out the protesters.

I wish the boo'ers would STOP. It makes us all look bad.
