HA! No kidding!

"...get past all that noise..."

Indeed. She connects with people. She's been given such a bad rap. She's been an absolute pin cushion for the far-wrong since the 90s nationally, and farther back than that locally in Arkansas. And somehow she's survived and stood up to all that and risen above it all. I want that in the White House!

Great shots!

Looks like people were having fun! MAN, I'll bet it's nuts all over Iowa these days!

VERY cool!

Show off the colors! Nice to see people celebrating the red, white, & blue!

Personal adornment is an international language. Kind of like math and music. Seems to me EVERYBODY everywhere speaks it in one way or other.

The only problem with a graphic like this one is - the low-information voter.

Too many dumb-asses out there among the undecided and apathetic will be swayed by cartoonish crap like this from all corners of the GOP. Especially dumb-asses who might not have bothered to vote.

Unfortunately (and unfairly), the word "socialist" has been so thoroughly peed on and pooped on and slandered and smeared over several generations by now. Look how long it's taking to rehabilitate the word "liberal", which has also been thoroughly trashed, although only in earnest as of the last 30+ years. The terms "socialist' and "socialism" have been veritable dirty words for almost a century by now. And the opposition is very good at pulling on people's fears with all manner of buzz phrases and frank luntz'd focus-tested propagandizing.

Whether anyone here likes it or not, or believes it or not, this IS going to be a factor. Because too many American voters A) don't think and B) scare easily. Fear is a tremendously powerful motivator. And all we Dems need is an opposition party's voters scared into being even MORE fired up to turn out at the polls and get their guy in, instead of ours.

Taking out Saddam meant removing the cork from the VERY well-shaken Iran bottle.

Saddam Hussein contained Iran. He kept them busy and occupied and fighting him and his minions, so they were not able to make much mischief toward Israel or anywhere else. Now, that containment is LONG GONE. And look where we are.

I'm amazed at what an idiot jeb is - but I guess it's more important to stand by his brain-dead dry-drunk brother, and burnish and defend that bastard's legacy. We WILL be back at war if he or ANY of the testosterone-obsessed GOPers get into the White House. How many more American kids do you want to order back over there to get their legs blown off, jebbie? HOW MANY will be enough, THIS time?

Oh there's more than one. And I'm sure the pile-on will begin at any moment.

I just get tired of fighting with them, arguing with them, and trying to bring some sense into the argument. But by God that Almighty Holy Goddamn Sacrosanct You-Can't-Touch-This Second Fucking Amendment just can't even be LOOKED AT to see if we need to update it or change it or amend it further to reflect changing times.

He has a lot to be proud of. He was so badly trashed by the GOP and the reaganauts.

SO badly trashed. He became an object of derision. It was awful and so undeserved. All you have to do is compare the two of them - Carter versus reagan.

What did each of them do after they left office?

Carter went around building houses for the homeless, activating Habitat for Humanity, putting that cause on the map, devoting himself further to the human rights campaign he started while in office, became an international voice for human rights and fair elections and helping those less fortunate. Put not only his money but his whole body where his mouth was. He and Rosalyn could be seen, in many places, up on ladders in their overalls, with hammers and nails, and other actual roll-up-yer-sleeves WORK.

reagan? FIRST thing he and nancy did after he left office was to fly to Japan for a lavish, luxurious first-class pre-arranged personal appearance that was going to pay him two million dollars for one speech. THAT'S what was on the reagan agenda. How to cash in. How big to cash in. And how FAST to cash in. Granted, he was moving into some rather advanced throes of Alzheimers but he was still able to get dressed up and go out and glad-hand the fans, and stand there at the podium and read cue cards and fake it well enough. That was about it as far as the mercenary part, though, because there weren't many of those big-ticket junkets for him after that, and soon enough he was settled in at home in Bel-Air, in his bathrobe, with his nurses, drooling most of the day.

But the point was unmistakeable and hard to ignore. When Jimmy Carter left office, he set about helping others. When reagan left office, he set about helping himself.

Kinda shows you the measure of the man, and rather clearly, too.

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years.
