She's really pathetic, that Empty Greene. Or Marjorie Traitor Gangrene. Or whatever fits.

But I'm sorry, I keep going back to blaming the people who saw fit to vote her into Congress. What On Earth were they thinking? Or maybe they simply weren't thinking, period. Just saw the blonde hair and perpetually bare arms and maybe that was what got their attention. I swear, she doesn't seem to know what a sleeve is. Most of the time she dresses inappropriately for Congress. For lunch with he girls, or taking the kids to the zoo or the beach, fine. But NOT for a sitting Member of Congress. She's just gotta keep shoving her bare skin into our faces.

What a trashy individual. It does make me wonder how much lower she'll go...

Reminds me of when I was still working at the AP and saw a “People” story appear on the wires about the Three Stooges. The first line in the story read “Coitenly!”

Okay, if you just glanced at that and hadn’t read down a few lines to understand what the story was about, you might assume the story was about sex - ie: coitus. With a hard-C, not a soft-C. But whoever wrote it was trying to riff off how Curly Joe of the Three Stooges pronounced “certainly”. If I’d written that story, I’d have wanted to spell it “Soitenly!” Cuz people would read that and have to read it out loud and - BAM! They’d get it. And they’d read it right - the way Curly Joe pronounced it.

I bet there’d have been a brief conference at the editor’s desk to sort it all out.

Maybe with the long-vowel denotation of a small horizontal line above the “a”?
