About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Me gusta!!!

On edit -

We just got back from a Mexican food dinner with some friends. OH the YUMMMM!!!! Chicken tostada and a single margarita. And ALL the tortillas, corn and flour, are made right there by hand, at the little hearth at one end of the room. The BEST!

Shit - there are taco trucks all over my neighborhood.

All it means is good eatin' and lots of it!

The food is delicious, authentic, fresh and freshly-made right there, the chefs are friendly and personable, the galley is clean, and the prices are unbeatable!

They're a public menace.

OMG! That's Fan-Fucking-Tastic!!!

Love it!!!

From what I've heard and seen, it's merely

yet another chapter in the Big Book of Nothingburger.

I've been tweeting to various media people:

Re: Hillary "scandals" - how much NOTHING do you need to be shown before you finally come to realize that there's NOTHING?

Quite simply - They DON'T Want To Help You.

Stands for "I Got Mine, F-U."

Yeah. Similarly - what they did to Gary Condit, while Joe Scarborough thrives.

Gary Condit was practically flayed alive, and his career as a Congressman ended, under "suspicions" that he was involved in the disappearance of a Capitol Hill intern who was later found dead, while NOTHING happened to ol' Morning Joe when he was briefly in Congress, but an intern was found DEAD in his office. Of course, Gary Condit was a Democrat. Joe is a CON.

Look what they did to Bill Clinton, who stupidly dallied with another intern. But Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde, Bob Livingston, and Dan Burton, ALL of whom did worse things than President Clinton did - all of them cheated on their wives, but also left behind untold messes and personal wreckage, strings of broken marriages, and out-of-wedlock babies born by their mistresses. Bill Clinton's fuck-up did NONE of those. The worst that only TWO of them lost was a job (Gingrich eventually had to resign as House Speaker) or a promotion (Livingston had to give up hopes of replacing him).

#doublestandard - good to add to whatever tweets you might post about political topics.

That's a really good point, Hulk. And it bears repeating again and again.

And yet again.

republi-CONS. THEY DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU. They DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU, NEVER have, and NEVER will. They DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU. That's their bedrock "philosophy." They don't believe in it. They don't believe in government. They don't believe in a larger entity (like - GOVERNMENT) that is there to serve the greater good. They don't believe in it. They're the "sucks to be you. You're on your own. Lotsa luck, chumps" crowd. Not a bit interested.

And, mind you, these are the same folks who wrap themselves around the Cross of Christ and pontificate up the ting-yang about how "Christian" they are. They're not interested in loving thy neighbor as thyself. They don't give a damn about the whole "my brother's keeper" thing. They're the Sucks-To-Be-You crowd. They're the IGMFU crowd. "I Got Mine, F-U."

I don't know why they're surprised, or even disappointed.

Seriously. Who did they think they were climbing into bed with, in the first place?

Seems like a classic case of trying VERY hard to fool oneself into thinking Beelzebub is the Archangel Gabriel. Makes me think of that fable about the scorpion needing to cross the river, and sweet-talking the fox into giving it a piggyback ride across the water. "Don't worry, says the scorpion! I won't sting you!" The fox isn't sure, justifiably fearing for its safety, but the scorpion soothes - "well, why would I? It'd mean I'd drown, too." The fox gives in, throws caution to the wind, and decides to take "a chance. A very risky chance." And guess what happens? Yep, sure enough, let Scorpion be Scorpion! What the hell DID you expect, anyway? Stings the fox about halfway across the river, and as they're both, indeed, drowning, the fox asks - "WHY?" and the scorpion responds - "because I'm a scorpion. That's what I do."

We cannot afford to risk giving Donald Trump a ride across the proverbial river on our backs. I don't know what on earth these "Latino surrogates" were thinking. All they do is prove themselves to be chumps. They swallowed the poison, knowing it was poison, but hoping in vain that it might be chocolate (or maybe at least chocolate-flavored). Seriously, what on earth did they expect?

"Extreme vetting! I call it extreme vetting!" Well, let's not forget, he hasn't forgotten about the torture option. He's already said he's fine with it and would willingly indulge... Hey, why stop with "terrorists"?

My husband keeps mumbling "that's what Hitler said." "Law and Order."

I'd started watching that speech in Arizona last night and just had to excuse myself. ENOUGH. Can't stand his voice. Can't stand what he has to say. Can't stand his twisted pretzel-think. Can't stand the idiot crowds who are roaring approval to some of the worst and most unworkably "ideas" I've heard in a long time.

And it seemed like there was no end to it.

Had to go do some crafting to get away from it and clear my head a little.

To anybody here who thinks - well, maybe we need to sink to this depth to shake ourselves out of it, PLEASE reconsider. We can't let this happen. We simply can't. It's WAY too big a risk, with all kinds of unanticipated complications and ramifications. And remember, THIS is the same guy who wonders, aloud, multiple times, "if we have nukes, why can't we use them?" Can anyone even minimally justify living in the kind of world after some swaggering snake-oil salesman decided to sit down at the poker game and start betting with nukes? Seriously???
