About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

Awwww, thanks, mindfulNJ.

He died 20 years ago. The main culprit was late-onset diabetes. He just WOULD NOT mind his doctors, and when one of ‘em wouldn’t “cooperate,” he’d just go find another one.

After awhile of trying to fight with him about it, we just gave up. He and my mom lived separately but never divorced. He had umpteen different ways of finding his way to the local donut place. We tried everything to get him to stay on a diet or just a smarter eating program. No luck. He refused to listen - to the very end.

It’s pretty crappy when all you realistically have left to hope for is a mercifully quick end.

So did mine. DEEP purple feet and creeping up above the ankles. Scary.

Any way you slice it, it does NOT look good.

Yep. Both these comparisons crossed my mind too.

I’m surprised trump didn’t levitate and fly around the room during that first debate like the Baron is seen doing.

My husband is wondering if Mitch is taking heavy blood-thinners.

As a mother and a grandma, thoughts of those kids in cages

scream and tear at me every hour of every day.

No. Wrong. Make that every MINUTE of every day.

That level of DELIBERATE, INTENTIONAL cruelty that was planned, undoubtedly gamed out in Oval Office meetings and elsewhere, and carried out - STILL! To THIS VERY DAY - convinced me that if whole countries could be damned to Hell, ours would top the list.

This is an epic colossal black mark of shame on America in history that rivals the Nazi camps.

We may never earn full forgiveness for a sin against the innocent that’s this big, from the rest of the world. Or in the Eyes of God. If we’re lucky and we attempt to atone or show co tritium, MAYBE we’ll finally earn some measure of forgiveness. MAYBE. But it will take admitting to such a grievous wrong and attempting even a little bit of humility and penance done. But with the in-yer-face pride in this, and the level of defiance and denial that we see in the “true believers”, I am not all that hopeful.

Oh MAN, is this one ever a KEEPER!

That may have been THE line of the night.

trump probably figures he won because he wasn't foaming at the mount by halfway through.

Welcome to DU, dsp3000!

He'd be good at whatever position he held, and it would burnish his resume nicely! He's got a long and roomy runway ahead of him.

He would be a knock-out as Press Secretary, though. He's articulate and well-spoken, and could deliver some really refined messaging, and with feeling.

How about VA chief? He served. He'd probably be a superb and empathetic advocate.

I guess that means I would not have skin in the game.
