We gave up, too.

Now it’s three cats and no tree, and our kids are grown and managing their own Christmases. But maybe my old family ornaments will survive til our kids take over. Meanwhile, we decorate strategically and cat-defensively now. Whatever it might be, it’ll be hung beyond their reach.
