A new patient I had the other day, turns out, we went to junior high school together.

We were in band together, and we really didn't like each other very much. Never saw him again after seventh grade, forty years ago.

He turned up on my clinic schedule on Friday, and I recognized his name right off; it's not a common name.

When I entered the exam room, I introduced myself and asked him if he had gone to X Junior High. He said "Yes", then I explained who I was. He brightened up and said "Oh YEAH! How are you?"

The kids' stuff bad-blood was forgotten, and we really enjoyed getting to meet again after so many decades. I hope we made each other's day...

One of my oldest and dearest patients just got diagnosed with liver cancer.

I just referred him to oncology. We''ll see how it goes. He's been a patient of mine for as long as I've been in practice. Sweetest guy in the world...

I just got off the phone with him. It was everything I could do to keep from breaking down and crying. I didn't want to embarrass him or make him more anxious than he no doubt already is.

I found a place that will 3-D-print a replica of a tank cannon round. Should I get one?

The vendor can emblazon the replica munition with the regimental crest a tanker served under. He can do multiples if you served with more than one unit.

This would look good in my library/office/army memorabilia display.
