My Harris yard sign disappeared last night

I have a Biden/Harris sign from 2020. I put some duct tape over “Biden” and put it up. I live on a short street that goes nowhere, has little traffic, and the Harris sign was up for a month. All of my neighbors have seen it so if this one disappears, I see no need to get a new one from the local office. They know where I stand.

The Bradley effect skews polls with a social desirability bias. Individuals being polled don’t want to.be considered racists or misogynists and may say they’re voting for Harris but actually end up voting for TSF. We all thought Clinton would win in 2016. We can’t be complacent even though the polls seem to be encouraging.

I propose we stop using the term "immigrant"

And start using “refugee”. I believe most of the people attempting to enter the US are fleeing in fear of their lives. Repressive regimes, violent gang warfare, starvation from climate change. Immigrant implies a choice was made.

Many of my ancestors emigrated from Germany in the 1850s. They were farmers and the chance to homestead was a powerful draw. But there were refugees then, too. The Irish fleeing famine. My grandmother’s family fled Russia in 1904 to avoid being conscripted into the Czar’s army to fight Japan.

Framing them as refugees is accurate and a more sympathetic term.

The downside of the recent Colorado election tampering conviction

It’s 2024 and this case came from the 2020 election. The courts move slowly especially when lawyers skilled in filing delay motions are involved. If there is rat fucking skullduggery in the 2024 election, time will not be on our side. The new Congress and President must take office in January 2025. The Colorado case may serve as a warning for some but there will likely be cult members willing to fall on their sword for the god-king. All they have to do is gum up the works badly enough that SCOTUS steps in.

The best way to neuter them is to carry enough states and have a commanding lead in EVs. Then those MAGA plants will have to do their jobs to avoid criminal prosecution.
