I'm so glad that Limbaugh is still alive

to see his corrupt little Cheetoh führer rejected and run out of office in the most pathetic display of pettiness and poor sportsmanship in American history.

Family game: which kids will flip on The Donald ?

The game pieces are Jared, Ivanka, Don Jr, Eric, Melania, Tiffany, Guilfoyle

your challenge is place the game pieces in the correct order for when they flip on Daddy in exchange for prosecutorial leniency. Game pieces that don't turn state evidence go in the Dummy Box. Bonus points for correctly picking degree of leniency.

For instance, my bid is:

1. Jared (immunity)
2. Ivanka (immunity)
3. Eric (reduced sentence)
4. Tiffany (charges dropped)

Dummy Box:
Guilfoyle (does the full stretch; eventually makes trustee)
Don Jr (pulls a Jeffrey; CT community doesn't bother speculating)
Melania (defects to Russia, ends up marrying Snowden)

Participants: PayPal or Venmo your email him $5 participation fee to Earl G. Game bidding closes 1/20/21; Winning bids collect pay out 12/31/31

I just read the WaPo article on Trump & Kushner screwing up Covid management

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/politics/trump-covid-pandemic-dark-winter/

It's an absolute must-read, if you want to understand how thoroughly the administration botched this crisis.

Oliver Stone needs to make a W-like movie about these monsters. Like at one point Jared Kushner ordered one of his friends to make a covid spread model, saying it's just like making a financial growth model, because he didn't like the one that the scientists were giving him. Kushner demanded that the final mortality count come in under 100,000.

Sometime in the last month Trump just gave up trying to work on the covid spread. He literally just can't be bothered with it anymore. Of course none of this is surprising, but it's just so stunning to think about, I wasn't able to finish this article in one sitting.

I'm sorry, but I don't see the frivolous lawsuit to overturn the election as sedition

It's a bad lawsuit. It's a bad understanding of democracy. It's bad faith and bad for democracy. But I don't see that it crosses the line of sedition.

It doesn't constitute a rebellion or a call for rebellion to question the means of conducting an election. Given Republican propensity to suppress votes, questioning how a vote was conducted is the last thing we want to establish as a precedent for being seditious or disloyal.

Yes, Republicans are mostly quislings and bad faith actors in democracy, and that's a danger to the republic. We've seen the damage it does to the country. But we shouldn't be party to the criminalization of politics--a tool that the next "Trump" (and there will be a next) will gladly use if it's left as a standing precedent.

Never Forget

The Simpsons warned us. Not just the Trump presidency, but also how it would bankrupt the nation. We should all be watching that show for more clues to what the future holds

PA GOP Leader: "My House Would Get 'Bombed' If I Didn't Want To Help Trump Overturn Election"

PA GOP Leader: My House Would Get ‘Bombed’ If I Didn’t Want To Help Trump Overturn Election

Pennsylvania Senate Majority Leader Kim Ward (R) laid out in stark terms the pressure she and other Republicans are experiencing from their base to boost President Donald Trump’s corrupt war against the 2020 election results.

In an interview with the New York Times published on Wednesday, Ward described the backlash that she would’ve been dealt if she openly stated that she didn’t want to sign her fellow Republican colleagues’ letter last week requesting that federal Pennsylvania lawmakers invalidate the state’s Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden.

“If I would say to you, ‘I don’t want to do it,’ I’d get my house bombed tonight,” Ward said.

The Republican leader told the Times that she did not join the other 64 Pennsylvania Republicans who signed the letter because she did not see it before it was sent last Friday.

and Wall Street will double dip from that stimulus, as usual

Investment banks and other firms on Wall Street will get whatever direct support they can wrangle out of a split Congress, of course.

Then they'll get the lion's share of direct-to-citizens stimulus payments that reach households that aren't struggling, since there's such limited outlets for investment or consumer spending.

I'm seriously concerned about stock prices inflating into a bubble, an easily popped bubble, if the country keeps on borrowing money to stuff into stocks and other speculative securities.

We're about to have a national debt larger than GDP, a situation we haven't seen since the end of World War II. If the Republicans start to play debt ceiling games again like they did under Obama, stock prices could take a serious plunge.

253 T-shirts expected to auction for $2M

In case you were looking for it an argument for why we need a massive tax hike.

253 Supreme T-shirts expected to sell for $2M

Bogart's collection, which is considered the first complete archive of Supreme tees to ever exist, contains many items that are impossible to find, even in the secondary market, said Christie's in a press release.

Said Bogart on a website created for the collection:
"From that point on, my interest grew into an obsession, and (I) started adding to my collection as often as I could, always looking for the best condition examples I could find... A lot of people don't think about the non-stop weeks, months, and even years of research and work that it can take to find just one tee."

The T-shirts in Bogart's collection feature color and design variations of what is arguably the brand's most valuable asset: its simple logo, a red rectangle marked with the word "Supreme" that fashion platform Lyst crowned the industry's most powerful logo in 2018. The collection includes early editions, such as four T-shirts that feature a smaller Box Logo design -- released in 1995."

As far as market investments are concerned, I'm bullish on guillotines

We all need a lot smile sometimes...

It gives me a little smile knowing Trump will spend the rest of his life fighting assets forfeiture suits from DeutscheBank.
