TODAY is the Ohio Referendum on Reproductive Rights! Activists' List and Calendar

(Please let me know if there are any broken links or incorrect or incomplete information) (Thanks to RandySF for the info)

Note: many of these events are “virtual,” so anyone in the USA (or even beyond) can participate!

What’s at stake:

Voters in the Buckeye State will decide whether to enshrine abortion protections into the state constitution (via “Issue 1”) or be the first to reject an abortion-rights measure since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

Anti-abortion groups are banking on Ohio to end the movement’s run of state-level losses and create a blueprint for battles in 2024 and beyond.

Election Day
Vote in person at your usual polling place between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
To find your polling location:
https://ohiosos.gov/elections/voters/toolkit/polling-location/

If you decide to vote in person, make sure you have one of the acceptable forms of ID required to vote.
Per Ms. Toad:
Voter ID rules have changed in Ohio. A photo ID is required for voting in person at the polls either ahead of the election or on election day (unexpired driver's license, unexpired passport - or other US/State issued ID, US Military ID). In the past a photo ID was not needed - and in the past passports did not qualify as ID.

Acceptable forms of ID:
◦ An Ohio driver license
◦ An Ohio state ID card (Additional links and information in the Free State IDs section below)
◦ An interim identification form issued by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles
◦ A U.S. passport or passport card
◦ A U.S. military ID card, Ohio National Guard ID card, or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card (that includes the voter’s name and photograph)
◦ [College students] If you don’t have a valid Ohio photo ID, you can vote-by-mail using the last four digits of your Social Security Number as identification.

No longer acceptable:
◦ Current utility bill, bank statement, government check; paycheck, other government document, and concealed carry permit.

Some additional information, courtesy Ms. Toad:
If you know/run into someone while canvassing who says they don't have a photo ID, they can still vote - but it is more of a hassle. It will have to be by paper (not in person) absentee ballot. If they request an absentee ballot and postmark it/drop it in the absentee ballot box at the board of elections they can vote using only the last 4 digits of their social security number.

7 Days Until Ohio Referendum on Reproductive Rights!

PROTECT REPRO RIGHTS – VOTE YES ON ISSUE 1 PHONE BANK!
https://ohioansunitedforreproductiverights.win/event/protect-repro-rights-vote-yes-on-issue-1-phone-bank/2023-11-06/

Tuesday, November 7, 2023:

• Acceptable forms of ID
◦ An Ohio driver license
◦ An Ohio state ID card (Additional links and information in the Free State IDs section below)
◦ An interim identification form issued by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles
◦ A U.S. passport or passport card
◦ A U.S. military ID card, Ohio National Guard ID card, or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card (that includes the voter’s name and photograph)
◦ [College students] If you don’t have a valid Ohio photo ID, you can vote-by-mail using the last four digits of your Social Security Number as identification.
• No longer acceptable
◦ Current utility bill, bank statement, government check; paycheck, other government document, and concealed carry permit.
Some additional information, courtesy Ms. Toad:
If you know/run into someone while canvassing who says they don't have a photo ID, they can still vote - but it is more of a hassle. It will have to be by paper (not in person) absentee ballot. If they request an absentee ballot and postmark it/drop it in the absentee ballot box at the board of elections they can vote using only the last 4 digits of their social security number.

Biden-Harris and 2024 competitive Democratic Senator and House donation links (8/10/23 update)

Updated 8/10/2023

** The 2024 Presidential Race **

Donate to the Biden-Harris 2024 campaign:
https://secure.actblue.com/donate/du4biden
https://joebiden.com/donate-by-mail/

Presidential race outlook:

Biden is in for a tough race, but he has the edge in the early going. In order for Republicans to win back the White House, whether the nominee is Trump or Desantis or someone else, they will have to flip a lot of states that went for Biden in 2020.

Republicans will be particularly targeting these states that flipped from red to blue between 2016 and 2020: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Nevada was also close in 2020, and will likely be a target as well. Trump won in Florida and North Carolina in 2020, but they were very close and therefore an opportunity for Biden to flip those states next election.
