"Country first . . . right after book sales." . . . Please come CAPTION John Bolton!!!

John Bolton is saying: "When my country needs me, I'm ready! . . . I will be happy to testify in the Senate and what I have to say will be of central importance in understanding what an immoral, deceitful, dangerous person the president is. . . . It is merely a coincidence that I announced my willingness after my publisher said my testimony and visibility will dramatically increase the sales of my book."

"War. What is it good for? Plenty." . . . Please come CAPTION PresiDented Donald Trump!!!

PresiDented ("There's a price on my head 'cause I'm so smart" ) Trump is saying: "Everybody was telling me to take baby steps on the way to war, all my generals, the advisors, everybody, but by taking out Soleimani I took one giant step right up to the brink thereby saving a lot of time and taxpayer money in the process. . . . Why can nobody else think these things through?"

"My think tank is the greatest in the history of ever." . . . Please come CAPTION PresiDente Trump!!

PresiDented Trump is saying: "My critics and the fake media say that I took out Soleimani impulsively, without considering the consequences, but I consulted with some the the best minds, experts really, in this sort of thing. . . . They agreed that, after a brief period of mourning, the Iranian people will rise up against their supreme leader and demand a new form of government, a democracy. . . . All my advisors were unanimous: Sean, Brian, Pete, Tucker, Neil, Judge Jeanine, both Doocy's, . . . you name it. . . . Contrary to what my critics say, my decision was probably the most considered in the history of our nation."

PresiDented ("A double cheeseburger is brain food." )Trump is saying: "Just so you know we've planned it all out. . . . In a couple days after the death of Suleimani, the average Iranian will see the wisdom in our action and rise up against their so-called leaders and create a government modeled on our democracy. . . . .What do my critics mean when they say I act impulsively and can't think things through? . . . Looks like the joke's on them."

The Orange Odiocity on the way to war. . . . Please come CAPTION PresiDented Trump!!!

PresiDented (Twitter Tiger) Trump is saying: "Well, I had literally dozens of options, hundreds actually, and most of them good, . . . but any one of them could have led to escalation and eventual war, so I decided to skip all the tiny steps, save everybody a lot of time, and get right up to the edge f it. . . . And to think, my critics are saying I don't know strategy!"

The hero of cowards. . . . Please come CAPTION John Bolton!!!

John ("You owe me your conscious existence" ) Bolton is saying: "They're all crazy. The truth is that I'd love to testify because I've got facts and details which, when known, will demolish Trump at the polls this November and would save this nation and likely Democracy itself, but only as long as it doesn't undercut the pre-sales of my book which would be a financial bow to Simon & Schuster who have had such faith in me to justify the terms of our contract, but since that cannot be guaranteed . . . ."

About skip fox

I am retired, now a professor emeritus at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where I taught in the English department for 37 years. I've written 4 chapbooks and 5 full-sized books (all listed as poetry though many include other genres as well), including _Sheer Indefinite: Selected Poems, 1991-2012 (Univ. of New Orleans Press, 2012). I've also written a 500+ page bibliography of three contemporary poets: Robert Creeley, Ed Dorn, and Robert Duncan. I am writing now, both fiction and poetry, more now than ever. My first vote for President of the United States was for Dick Gregory in 1968 (Bowling Green, Ohio). Favorite quote: "It's easy to be an idealist if you don't have to mind the evidence, but no one said it was supposed to be easy" (Richard LaPauvre).
