About Me
I am retired, now a professor emeritus at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where I taught in the English department for 37 years. I've written 4 chapbooks and 5 full-sized books (all listed as poetry though many include other genres as well), including _Sheer Indefinite: Selected Poems, 1991-2012 (Univ. of New Orleans Press, 2012). I've also written a 500+ page bibliography of three contemporary poets: Robert Creeley, Ed Dorn, and Robert Duncan. I am writing now, both fiction and poetry, more now than ever. My first vote for President of the United States was for Dick Gregory in 1968 (Bowling Green, Ohio). ex-Presidented ("Is my hair on straight?" ) Trump is saying: "Believe me, I love the Constitution more than anyone ever, probably even more than the guys who wrote it! . . . It's our guiding light and foundation. . . . It gives us both order and freedom. . . . And it makes us all Americans! . . . But when people use it to steal an election and to attack me in the fake news when I question it, they're weaponizing the most important document in our history! . . . Vladimir Putin is saying "Is untrue I fall down stairs and soil self. A capitalist, imperialist lie. Bald face. I pretend fall down and tell rumors about accidental bowels in pants. Is to make imperialists think I am weak, not well in health, down in tooth, as stupid Americans say. But you see I am well. Strong. Like brave Russian forces in glorious victory against Nazis in so-called Ukraine, now mostly provenances of Russia. Reporters say different are ignorant mouth of liar." |
