When Rep. Jeffries referred to Ukraine as a "fragile democracy", my first thought was

That's us now. The United States of America is a "fragile democracy".

This is from the Illinois State Bar Association, but most jurisdictions have similar provisions:

"If the court determines that a party has failed to produce evidence and has no reasonable excuse for failing to do so, the court may determine it was not produced because the evidence would be unfavorable to that party’s position. In the court’s discretion, the failure of a party to produce evidence may lead to the giving of a jury instruction about the presumption."

So, IN LAW, the withholding of documents and evidence within a party's control creates a presumption that the documents or evidence withheld is adverse to that party's interest in the litigation.

What Trump has done/is doing to hide documents and gag witnesses would lose his case for him in most any regular Court. Hopefully, it will have the same effect in the "Court of public Opinion".

This will be an incomplete list. Trump has called Mexicans rapists and murderers; he's made up

demeaning and childish nicknames for multiple Democrats and his primary opponents; he's termed African nations shithole countries; he's denied that John McCain was a war hero; he's boasted about his entitlement to "grab 'em by the pussy"; and, he has publicly solicited foreign help in getting re-elected.

And, NOW Republicans are "offended" by Jerry Nadler saying out loud what everyone with an IQ above room temperature knows to be true?

Give. Me. A. Break!

So, we have one Republican senator working a crossword during the hearing, one with an I-Phone

(contrary to THEIR rules), one in the hall doing a Fox interview while case being presented and a dozen or more Republicans who simply walked out during part of Adam Schiff's presentation.

LISTENING being a part of any serious "deliberation", they can stuff that "world's greatest deliberative body" BS!

"A" is still "The Scarlet Letter", but now it stands for "Acquittal".

We should brand it onto the record of every Republican who, contrary to clear and overwhelming evidence that Donald Trump is guilty of "high crimes and misdemeanors", voted for acquittal.

The emphasis now is on the Republicans running for re-election next November. The stain of their cowardice, dishonesty and hypocrisy should also follow those who will be on the ballot in '22 and '24.

"Acquittal" should become the new "albatross".

I've heard more than one Trumper talking head whine about how angry the Republican

senators are about Nadler saying they were voting to cover up for Trump AND Schiff saying they had to impeach to prevent Trump from cheating to win the next election.

If the shoe fits------

WHEN---we remove Trump and start the likely decades-long process of mending,

healing and restoring, one of our first undertakings should be a determined and persistent effort to comb dozens and dozens of incompetent ideologue federal "judges" out of Uncle Sam's beard. These racists, homophobes and genuine idiots were selected by RWNJ's, nominated by the White House squatter and approved by a Republican Senate whose only apparent real question about the nominees was "Will they do as they are told?"

I know they cannot be removed simply because they are Trump appointees or that we believe they are incompetent --- or even that some really are idiots. But, just review some of the known factors that should have disqualified them: open racism, misogyny, homophobia, anger control issues. These qualities don't disappear when they don a robe.

Without, of course, violating the law, monitor their social media; record and review their speeches; track their vacations and their "significant purchases". At least SOME of them will be arrogant enough to hand us the means to impeach them. And, then, of course, we have to do it: impeach them.

To those who say "Where will we get the money to fund that?", I have no specific answer, but believe there are those with the funds who would agree that THEIR country should not be burdened by grifters and nincompoops on the federal bench. And, do we really doubt that Koch and Adelson and their ilk are not bankrolling that type of scrutiny of our people?

January 22, 2020

Just curious---was Sen. Rick Scott ever an honest person? Did he evolve into a hypocritical

liar or has he been one from the get-go?

Hearing his smarmy spew on CNN just now had the same effect as smelling someone else's fresh vomit.

Li'l Billy to Li'l Susie: "Let's play 'President's Counsel'!"

Susie: "President's Counsel? How do we play that "

Billy: "Well, we take turns standing behind a---a---pony-um and we wave our arms while we talk real loud and, and---snotty! We say bad stuff about people called 'Democratic collies'."

Susie: "But, I wouldn't know what bad things to say. Besides, my aunt has a collie and I love that dog!"

Billy: "They're not dogs! Well, sometimes they do call the women Democrats b------- Never mind that! You just make up bad stuff and you say Democrats did it or said it. Easy-peasy!"

Susie: "But, won't that make the Democrats mad? Won't they say bad stuff back to us?"

Billy: "No, silly! They're DEMOCRATS: they think they should stick to the facts and the truth. So, do you wanna play?"

Susie: "OK, I'll be one o' them Democrats."

January 21, 2020

IMHO, due to the lies they are telling and the bad faith arguments they are spewing, both

Cippilone and Sekulow should be DISBARRED!
