Overall, I thought AG Garland's speech was fine, but one remark really "clanged"---LOUDLY.

After reciting a long list of threats to long list of public officials---ranging from bombings to beheadings---he said that it "wasn't just one party" responsible for the threats! (that may not be an exact quote, but it is very close)

While I bite my tongue, can someone explain or justify that?

About 60 years ago, I heard a neighbor boy back down the class bully with this:

"I may be the first to bleed, but I'll be the last one standing."

He said that while looking the bully square in the eye and the "tough guy" decided to smirk and walk away.

I hope that attitude still exists in enough Americans to put the Trumpies out of business.

It's ok to be scared. Just don't back down.

Some of the Trump party's bullshit about the filibuster needs to be shoveled back into their laps.

As Senator Klobuchar recently pointed out, over time there have been over 160 prior "carve-outs" or "exceptions" to this rule. I believe the last was engineered by McConnell and permitted him to ram through dozens of federal judicial nominees who can't find their ass with either hand.

So, let's be rude; let's interrupt ANYONE ---in (ahem!) either party---who begins to mewl about how a carve-out for voting rights would "destroy the Senate"and remind them of the above. And, if they persist in peddling their manure, why not call it what it is: "I am too busy"---OR, "We think too much of our audience"--- to listen to your bullshit!"

I just read an article wherein a conservative opined that, for Republicans, Donald Trump

had become the "model of masculinity".

AR-R-R-GH!

If that prissy hair-styling cowardly germaphobe is what they consider a "manly" role model, is it any wonder they can't get dates?

Just sayin'------

It has been said that the least-asked question is "And then, what?"

In 2016, many of us clearly understood the "then what" if Trump somehow wound up in the White House, but some apparently never asked the question. We need to ask it for them now; we need to ask THEM.

"If Trump's party wins the midterms and seizes control of Congress, THEN WHAT?"

Just a few answers:

---the Select Committee is dissolved and a new investigation is launched to determine how many Democrats should be expelled from Congress for their "treason" in daring to suggest Trump incited an insurrection. Most will be referred for criminal prosecution because "deep state".

---President Biden will be impeached.

---Vice President Harris will be impeached.

---"wasteful" federal spending for vaccines, masks, PPE, crisis medical teams, etc. will be ended.

---"acting uppity" will be a defense for any attack on or slaying of a person of color.

---abortion will be prohibited---no exceptions---and birth control strictly controlled and extremely expensive.

---criticizing or demeaning any government official will constitute "state slander" punishable by forfeiture of all assets and loss of citizenship.

In short, the US Constitution will be rolled up and hung next to every public toilet in the nation.

That's part of the answer we must be ready to supply when we ask that "And then, what?" question and see the blank stares.

A bit of unsolicited advice to New York AG Letitia James and any other authority whose subpoena

is defied by "Very Important People"-----

----DROP A HOUSE ON THEM!

Seriously, I know the House subpoenas are in a different category, but if an "ordinary person", Joe Schmo, ignores a COURT subpoena, there are usually instant results. As soon as the noncompliance is communicated to the court, at least a RULE TO SHOW CAUSE is issued ORDERING the subpoenaed person to appear before the court to show cause why they should not be held in contempt of court for disobeying the subpoena. ("Subpoena" is derived from Latin meaning "under penalty" )

If the subpoena is not quashed as invalid pursuant to a motion filed by the person subpoenaed and if they are found to be in contempt, the court has several options---including jail---to compel compliance. The harshest methods are usually reserved for those who openly defy the court's authority. So, in plain language even Don Jr. can understand, a Joe Schmo would have their derriere in a sling in short order after they defied a subpoena issued under court authority.

And, THAT is exactly where the high-rent tushes of Ivanka and Junior should be placed---ASAP!

To do anything less will encourage other wannabe scum to disrespect any governmental authority. If Ivanka, Don Jr AND Don Sr ---private citizens all---can flip off a sitting judge or a Congressional committee WITHOUT CONSEQUENCE, why can't anyone do the same?

I am not suggesting that they be persecuted. I am DEMANDING that they be treated like I would be in a similar situation.

So, Kevin McCarthy is now criticizing "the majority party" for not focusing on what he says is the

"REAL" issue about last January 6th: "why the Capitol was so unprepared for the assault."

After December 7th, 1941, we did not focus on why we were not better prepared for the unprecedented surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. We immediately went after the sonsabitches who attacked us and we hurt them very very badly.

After September 11, 2001, we did not waste time criticizing"the majority party" for not being better prepared. We immediately started the hunt for those who sent those planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon and we eventually killed Osama Bin Laden for inspiring the cowardly attack.

So, gotta ask, Kev: is that all you've got?

Is that your best version of "Lookie over HERE"?

Does former Bush aide Scott Jennings trigger anyone else's gag reflex?

I have never seen the need for CNN to allow this smarmy POS explain how he LOVED Trump's "policies" but now opposes him "because he violated his oath of office" on January 6th.

This morning, he went on to predict a hotly contested GOP primary because there is a "long list" of "highly qualified" candidates, including Haley, Cruz, Pence---yada yada.

Who's next as a CNN "contibutor"? Flynn? Bannon? How about Stone?

There are some very stupid Republicans now in Congress, but if Herschel Walker somehow becomes

one of Georgia's Senators, they will look like Einsteins by comparison.

As my Dad would have put it, "That man couldn't pour piss out of his boot if the instructions were on the heel!"
