Just an observation, Mr. Trump:

Remember that "girl" who kicked your butt in the 2016 popular vote? She answered questions from hostile Congressional Republicans for ELEVEN HOURS and now you're afraid to even show up before the J6 Committee?

Don't you folks have a word for such cowards? Starts with "p", I believe.

Will we ever again feel confident

That, somehow, we'll prevail?
Will we ever know down in our soul
That intolerance must fail?

I ponder these and other things
And ask where this will lead;
These lies and shameless cowardice
That sometimes do succeed.

It still remains my fervent hope---
I've no choice but to trust us---
That, as Dr. King assured us,
Our arc will "bend toward justice".

I know this; millions know this; millions are doing their damnedest to ignore it.

Justice WILL be delivered to Trump and Bannon and Flynn and others of their ilk too numerous to list here.

All that remains to be seen is whether or not it will be delivered by the government or thoroughly disgusted citizens.

I'm hoping it's the government but, one way or the other, "a hard rain's a gonna fall".

A comment on the Bannon "sentencing":

It just might be true that Herschel Walker---

vile transparent lies, it seems appropriate to restate.

Republicans have become the "Seinfeld party"---the party "about nothing".

Policies? Goals? Governing philosophy? Nope,---none.

Their 2020 party platform was LITERALLY "whatever Trump says it is" at the moment.

Hopefully, next month the voters will tell them "NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

A sometimes embarrassing truth: there are more of us than there are of them. All that is

necessary for us to win this election is that we all---or even a very healthy majority---of Democrats/progressives/liberals/decent Americans VOTE!

"None Dare Call It Treason---redux" (Not about "the commies" this time).

In 1964, a Christian minister named John Stormer penned a book detailing what he insisted was a nation about to be overrun and destroyed by communists both inside and outside of US government. That attitude fit in very well with the presidential candidacy of ultra-conservative Barry Goldwater. The foundation of the book's premise and much of Goldwater's candidacy was that "communists are everywhere" and "must be destroyed" because communism was treason.

Today, what is it that "none dare call treason"?

Christian nationalism---white supremacy---any or all of the "GI Joe" militias---Q-anon---or should we just say the entire MAGA CULT in all its variations?

I understand that none of this fits the technical legal definition of treason. But, those people are engaged in activities calculated to destroy what the rest of us treasure: American democracy and, THAT, folks, fits the common-law definition of "treason".

And, I dare call it that.
