Calling Wayne Newton----

"Schadenfreude, Donny , schadenfreude!
Sure as hell hope that you're annoyed
Thanks to Joe
Now you've got to go
We raise a glass
'Cause he showed class
And Kicked-Your-Ass!

Schadenfreude, Donny, schadenfreude!
This election we've enjoyed.
It must be hell
In that tiny cell
Where you'll surely rot
And your mug shot
Just ain't so hot!"

I could be lying about this---but I am not.

I mentioned a couple of days ago that just over 80% of the voters in my county voted for Trump. Well------

I've just returned from a honking ( "This-is-what-democracy-sounds-like!" ) drive through the downtown of the county seat, circled the courthouse and then drove out to our "Super Wal-Mart" and stood in front of the main entrance wearing my "TRUMP WORST PRESIDENT EVER" tee, my "Biden" mask AND---wait for it!---my DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND cap!

Can you say "catharsis", boys and girls?

Lots of people---good people---are saying Trump is under the Resolute Desk in a puddle of

---presumably---his own urine and feces, pulling out clumps of his hair and murmuring "Daddy---Daddy---Daddy---------"

Next time they show that red/blue election map on TV, notice this:

that big pointed blue dagger that stabs down into the heart of the red beast?

That's MY state---Illinois!

The difference between the parties in a nutshell:

if Barack Obama had committed the outrages that Trump has, DEMOCRATS WOULD HAVE IMPEACHED AND CONVICTED HIM!

November 7, 2020

This, from "Invictus", sums up the Joe Biden we have elected:

"In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed."

Speaking only for the Atticus tribe, we will not be satisfied with allowing Trump to

slink away to his Florida country club "residence", launch "Trump TV" and begin his 2024 campaign.

Trump is a traitorous lying criminal who should die in prison---period.

We do not want to hear that we must "look forward" and forego prosecuting Trump "for the good of the country". The "good of the country" is precisely why we demand his prosecution.

He and his spawn should be sued, prosecuted, fined, incarcerated, have their assets forfeited and be ordered to make restitution to those they swindled, defrauded and plain old-fashion robbed, including the US taxpayers.

Any future Donald wannabes should be persuaded not to follow his example by the vivid memories of his personal, political and financial destruction.

We can only look forward if we don't have to keep looking over our shoulder and watching our back.

Put him away.

I guess I am just too sick and tired of trying to winnow a few nuggets of truth from

a sea of bullshit to give anyone in charge of counting votes any benefit of the doubt.

Yes, I understand that there are extensions of time for military votes and---depending on the state---ballots mailed no later than election day and there are "grace periods" within which to cure challenged or provisional votes, BUT,---every thing else should be counted by now. And, it is not.

We are sitting on a keg of gunpowder while Trump and his enablers are tossing lighted matches at us. I believe that ending this uncertainty as quickly as possible would extinguish many matches and, damn it, justifies whatever overtime expense it would necessitate! It really burned to hear that Maricopa County, Arizona was sending their vote counters home every night because "it's technical work" and they do it "in stages"! Is this some sort of bad joke?

Delay serves the interest of Trump and his crew of thugs who are casting about for---or, in the process of manufacturing---SOME reason to invalidate the election and keep him in the White House and out of prison.

Count the damn votes! I earnestly believe a prompt resolution of this clusterfuck will save lives.

Could we please begin our examination of why "all the polls were wrong" by vowing

not to use the phrase "that couldn't happen here"?

5 years ago Trump "couldn't happen here";

a total refusal of the US Senate to convict him despite overwhelming evidence of his criminality "couldn't happen here";

daily routine grifting by the POTUS and a total disregard of the Emoluments clause "couldn't happen here";

public presidential approval of violent white supremacy "couldn't happen here"

separating nursing infants from their mothers and storing them and their siblings in wire cages "couldn't happen here".

We all know that list could go on and on. Can we really say that widespread manipulation of voting machines, scanners and associated computers "can't happen here"?

We are currently being deluged with the ASSUMPTION that "the polls were all wrong". Maybe. Was there any significant difference between the PAPER ballots ( by mail or drop box ) and the polls? How about the machine votes?

These questions need to be answered.

I showered immediately after Trump left his podium and I am now cleaner, if not calmer. So,----

I have this to say to Trump after screwing on my best "Eastwood Eyes":

"A man's got to know his limitations" and, you, sir, have more limitations than any person who has ever even pretended to be our president.

Now, wearing those same eyes and furrowed brow, I speak to Pence and the other "great minds" in the cabinet:

YOU know his limitations, even if he doesn't.

Will you be able to face yourself in the mirror tomorrow morning and say that Donald J. Trump is even marginally qualified and competent to be our Commander in Chief?

Will you not be embarrassed when your grandchildren ask why you ALLOWED ( and, therefore CONDONED! ) the outrages Trump is about to unleash in a fit of childish retribution against the nation that has rejected him?

Do you not understand that he may soon call on his Proud Boy punks and their ilk to "take to the streets to reclaim the nation" with their AR-15s and their Glocks and that history will blame you for the blood they spill?

Finally, can you really, truly, honest-to-God say that Donald Trump absolutely is not maniacal and spiteful enough to launch a nuclear strike on ( fill in the blank ) as a distraction and an excuse to remain in power?

Invoking the 25th Amendment is way overdue. Do the right thing for a change.
