I am watching Trump's diseased and transparently mendacious and psychotic rant.

I will have no immediate comment as I feel the need for a hot shower.

Is there a soap that washes off embarrassment for your country?

Given the "quality" of the "pleadings" strewn through various courts in several states,

it seems to me that the Trump campaign "attorneys" responsible for scribbling them onto used envelopes and cocktail napkins should begin practicing "Would you like fries with that?"

I have no idea if this is true---wink wink---but I heard that the Trump campaign plans

to file "the Mother of All Lawsuits" which seeks a SCOTUS ruling that Tuesday's election was so flawed that it is a "nullity".

The reason?

"Too many poopy-heads were permitted to vote !"

"Accordingly," the complaint concludes, "Donald J. Trump shall remain in office as El Presidente Supremo until further order. Amen."

Some of those who oppose a federal statute to standardize how federal elections are

conducted might insist that "states should be free to run their own elections!" I would agree.

If a state chooses to impose it's own unique practices and requirements to conduct elections for governor and secretary of state and other state and local officials, that should be their right be cause those are "their own elections".

But, the elections to choose a president and vice-president, a senator or a congressman? Those are not just their elections; these are OUR elections and the rules as to when how we vote should be the same in every state.

I think election days should be holidays; early voting should be permitted for at least a month; mail ballots should be counted so long as they are postmarked no later than election day and received within seven days after; and, envelopes for mailed ballots should be visibly distinctive and run ahead of any other mail. Finally, mailed or other ballots cast early should be counted promptly after receipt.

I'm sure there are other provisions that would improve my effort, but let's add this to our list of "to do"s.

Not today, but at some point we had better consider some sickening truths.

We have too many irons in the fire to deal with this emotional and tragic fact right now, but the stark reality of the repulsive and amoral nature of those with whom we share this nation cannot be ignored much longer.

Over 66 million of the people we share checkout lanes and restaurants with voted for the lying, arrogant, mentally unbalanced, pussy-grabbing criminal that Putin managed to get elected four years ago.

Some of these same people re-elected McConnell, Graham, Cotton, Inhofe, Ernst and Collins---just a sampling of the nauseating GOP Senate majority which ranges from astounding ignorance and incompetence on one fringe to fascist ideologues on the other. These people, these "fellow citizens" who walk among us, can no longer use the "I had no idea!" excuse for supporting Trump and his enablers. EVERYONE in this country and most of the civilized world knows who---and what--these people are.

And, they just applauded and encouraged them: they voted for them.

If you are wondering why I felt compelled to type this post, maybe this will explain: in my county, just over 80% voted for Trump.

Breathe deeply---in-ha-a-le---ex-ha-a-le! The sky isn't even close to falling.

We don't KNOW much of anything yet. We may see the sun rise before we feel like we do. It's going to be a long night and making ourselves sick with worry won't add a single vote to our totals.

I think we will win and win handily, but that win will require counting ALL of the votes.

Take care of yourselves. We need you.

The theme song of Trump's party tonight will be a Leslie Gore classic:

"It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to
You would cry too if it happened to you"

I've heard people ask "How can decent people vote for Trump?" I have the answer:

DECENT people don't.

You may now smack your forehead and say "Of COURSE!"

Mr. Trump, sir---your attention please:

"Nah-nah nah nah, hey he-ey, goo-ood-bye!"

Thank you! Thank you very much! Please tip your waiter or waitress!
