When the only tool you have is a hammer

all problems are Democrats.

As I read that Republicans are planning another "Brooks Brothers Riot" in Arizona, are ready to

"pounce on" and exaggerate any irregularity nationwide and claim any election we win was "rigged", I fear the result of many of these midterm contests will boil down to who is willing to bring a machine gun, bazooka and hand grenades to the "gunfight" about who counts which votes.

I think the choice for many---metaphorically, of course---is going to be EITHER an eye-gouging ear-biting crotch-kicking brawl to see who is left standing OR---roll over spend the next year or so playing "woulda-coulda-shoulda".

I know which option I'd choose.

The reason POC will never be more than "tools" in the GOP is VERY obvious:

they are not the "right" color.

They told us January 6th would be "wild". It was.

They told us they'd cut taxes for the obscenely rich. They did.

They told us they'd trash ROE. They did.

Now, they're telling us they will gut or get rid of Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare and VA benefits, plus outlaw contraception, same-sex and mixed-race marriages and early voting.

And, some are STILL saying "They wouldn't REALLY do that!"

If SOMEHOW all those eligible to vote ACTUALLY VOTED, I think Democrats would win by

something like a 2 to 1 margin.

Yet, we will spend this day wondering if the violent ignorant MINORITY will AGAIN take control of us.

By Tom's standard, I guess I "know best" because I do understand and readily admit how little I know.

I have opinions and beliefs, but so do each of you. In large measure, we are forced to live our lives in accordance with what we believe rather than what we know. And, as far as I am concerned, you can believe whatever you choose as long as your beliefs do not harm others and you do not try to impose them on me.

Where is this going?

Well, for some reason, even though mocking or criticizing a particular religious faith would instantly be seen as inappropriate and doing the same with regard to atheism would likewise brand you as intolerant, criticism of all who believe in the existence of a Supreme Being by any name seems to get a "pass".

I do not "know" the answer to any "religious questions" you might ask, but I do have beliefs about most of them and these are based primarily on just how puny is our human intellect---our inability to even begin to comprehend the universe in which we "believe" we exist.

So, believe what you choose or choose to believe nothing, but resist the urge to criticize those who choose differently. That's my opinion.

You know how sometimes we see those little warning boxes when we click on the link to

a photo or video? If what we are about to view is gory or violent or risque, we are told something like "WARNING!: the content of the site you are about to open contains images that may offend sensitive viewers."

I think we need another type of alert: "WARNING---the content of the site you are about to open contains images of Donald Trump and/or his children and/or others who worship him. Decent viewers WILL be thoroughly disgusted and offended! Further, there is much anecdotal evidence that viewing such images may be detrimental to your health."
