Sometimes I feel like my mind is in tatters because it has been stretched so often and so grossly

in a futile effort to wrap it around some of our current "reality".

---Over 140 members of the US CONGRESS voted to support Trump's attempted coup and nearly all of them continue to "serve" and continue to do anything---no matter how outrageous---to oppose our duly-elected President.

---The House of Representatives is now under the thumb of a mob including unrepentant insurrectionists, proud white supremacists and homophobic misogynistic anti-semites led by an invertebrate "Speaker" who makes Howdy Doody look leader-like.

---Donald Trump---known and ADMITTED sexual predator, racist and the understood by all with a pulse to have instigated the insurrectionist coup attempt on January 6, 2021---is favored to AGAIN win the Republican presidential nomination next year.

---Over two years after the fact, no one not physically present at the J6 assault on the Capitol and our democracy has been indicted.

There's more, but what passes for my mind is unravelling again so I'll quit.

Is it possible that the Chinese balloon was ALLOWED to transit the US so 1.) we could let it hear and see selected "disinformation" that would totally misrepresent our capabilities; 2.) we could take close-up photos of it WHILE TRANSMITTING; and, 3.) we could bring it down in shallow US waters and recover it unburned and relatively intact?

I'm not saying "this happened"; I'm asking couldn't it have?
