After getting a few "stink eyes" for being double masked in a store, I decided I'd better
plan a response if someone got vocal with their disapproval. This is it:
"Yeah---cough, cough---I know it looks silly but I just---cough, COUGH---tested positive and I want to---cough, cough, COUGH!--- pick up a few things while I can still get around."
They may not still be there to hear that last part!

After his obsequious and smarmy opening niceties, Cruz has done absolutely nothing
except presume to "mansplain" the law to Judge Jackson.

After a break in the questioning, Senator Durbin ate Cornyn's lunch AND drank
his milkshake by very "nicely" refuting his claim that Judge Jackson had once called George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld "war criminals".
As usual, he simply recited FACTS.
While listening to the disgusting smarm Senator Cornyn dished out to Judge Jackson
this morning, I could not help recall some remarks he made in 2005.
After her husband and mother were gunned down at Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow's home by a man whose lawsuit she had dismissed, new Senator Cornyn wondered aloud if the murders were a result of "unaccountable activist judges" making "political decisions". In other words, this is what "liberal" judges should expect.
He is a despicable waste of skin and his unjustified arrogance has become his trademark.
Each time I hear Senator Sheldon Whitehouse speak, I become a little bit
prouder to be a Democrat.
He has more intelligence, common sense and decency than any dozen Republicans you care to name.
And,---he doesn't back down when the flying monkeys attack.

Our pond is full, the season's first painted turtles are sunning on a log, a pair of
Canada geese is nest-hunting and the magnolia buds are opening.
"Spring Beauties" dot the greening grass and the rhubarb plants are unfurling their first leaves. The goldfinches are replacing their dull winter plumage with dandelion-yellow feathers and I may have heard the high-pitched song of a returning oriole.
Barring overnight rain, the garden will get its first tilling tomorrow.
Spring has indeed returned to "Little Egypt" in Illinois.
