"Killer Boobs"

In light of Angelina Jolie's disclosure, I would wish to point to a lady I know who wrote a blog, and then a book, with the title above about her own experience with breast cancer.

If we strongly support women who choose this particular option for the sake of their health -- who must summon the physical and emotional strength to fight their disease and who must at the same time disregard our society's opinion, evaluation, or judgment of their choice -- then we perhaps change society just a little.

Which is way overdue as it regards women's choices as it is.

"Killer Boobs"

That's the title of a book a person I know wrote recently about her own experience.

I think that's right.

If Hilary Clinton taps a Latino -- say, one of the Castros in Texas -- the GOP won't have a sniff at the White House until 2032. They may win the Senate in 2014, but after that, they will continue to destroy themselves and fail in 2016 of their own volition. Beyond that they will simply have to rethink their existence.

I think '16 will see another chapter in Democratic (perhaps not liberal or progressive) renaissance. And the progress we make depends on how much to the left we can pull the Democratic Party. History shows not much... but that's still the task at hand.

Derby picks?

Did not see another thread...

My top five will be some boxing of Orb, Goldenscents, itsmyluckday, Normandy Invasion, and Revolutionary, depending on how the odds change tomorrow. Rev, with the scratch of Black Onyx in the one hole and a wet track, gets favorable karma and lower odds (I suspect). I was tempted to dismiss Goldenscents as a hometown favorite until I read Andrew Beyer this morning. If I decide I have to mix in some longshot it's likely to be Palace Malice.

You?

Jarrett Tried to Kill Pritzker Nomination

White House confidant Valerie Jarrett and Commerce Secretary nominee Penny Pritzker "will have overlapping portfolios of outreach to corporate America" but BuzzFeed notes "there is no love lost between the two women, people who know both say: Indeed, Jarrett tried to torpedo the appointment... And their tense relationship could help define the Administration's attempts to mend ties with the business world that frayed badly during the first term."

"ties with the business world that frayed badly during the first term"? Really?!
