I would also like to express my appreciation to Mayor Hartsfield for his constrictive leadership throughout this whole struggle. I have always argued that the silent multitude of the South, who sincerely want fair play to be the hallmark of our society, needed support and encouragement available only from its major leadership to enable them to give open expression to their belief. I consider that Mayor Hartsfield's action illustrates the soundness of this course.5 The best antidote to degeneration of conflict of opinion into maliciousness and violence is statesman-like, firm, expressions of the moral issues giving active support to proper resolution.

of appreciation those threads are ignored like the plague by certain posters. Take for example an unplanned Bernie meeting with Sandra Bland's mother at a restaurant and Bernie saying her name at the debate and nothing else about it and the family going public with that meeting about a week later. That was completely ignored. Hillary's well publicized planned meeting with other families of violence and released by her campaign was praised to high heaven by the same posters who ignored Bernie's actions.. So no, you see that there is racial justice and then there is racial justice. There is a big difference there.

Bernie is absolutely right. The media should only be considering Carson's policies, not his lies. Why worry about Carson's lies when his ideas are the real danger and the focus should be on those so that people know where he stands on those issues.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) called out the media on Sunday for scrutinizing GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson's personal story, thereby diverting attention away from his policy positions.
“I think it might be a better idea, I know it's a crazy idea, but maybe we focus on the issues impacting the American people and what candidates are saying, rather than just spending so much time exploring their lives of 30 or 40 years ago,” Sanders, who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “And I think the reason that so many people are turned off to the political process has a lot to do with the fact that we're not talking about the real issues impacting real people.”
“When you look at Dr. Carson, to the best of my knowledge, this man does not believe that climate change is caused by human activity. This man wants to abolish Medicare, impacting tens of millions of seniors, and this man wants to give huge tax breaks to the rich,” Sanders said.
“Look, I listened to the interviews with Dr. Carson. And it's interesting," he said. "But you know what, Chuck? The American people want to know why the middle class of this country is disappearing, why we have 47 million people living in poverty, why we have massive income and wealth inequality.”

supposedly defending our country not matter? She's still one of the 145 military women who died in Iraq. Republican or Democrat what difference? Dead is dead. A life ended for no reason other than donning a military uniform and trusting the CIC. It only makes sense to vote for the man who was voted against sending her there to honor her, instead of the one who voted yes to send her there because she trusted the republicans not to go to war when they had made it clear there would be war, one way or the other. Using a dead woman as a cheap talking point indeed.
We knew what was going on with Bush and Iraq after 9/11. We knew what was behind the Iraq war drums
and the morphing by them of 9/11 and Iraq. We knew. If we knew and understood what their game was, a Senator who is privy to more information than we had to have known it also. The Iraq war vote was politically expedient for Hillary. The loss of life from that one action, theirs and ours is the stain that blots out and covers all else.
