I believe her. But I can't find in her essay where she mentioned Cristobal Alex? Maybe you can

point it out Cha? I think he went out of his way to make himself a part of the story. Make himself look good for the boss, maybe? Talk about misrepresenting. I don't see where he's offering up the information that Biden hired him for his team. You should read the tweets to him. . This guy seems like a shitty friend.

Biden Nabs Big Name Latino Operative

“In the latest sign that Joe Biden will run for president, his team has brought on Cristóbal Alex, the head of the influential Latino Victory Fund,” Politico reports.
“It’s not clear what role Alex would fill in a Biden presidential campaign. He served as Hillary Clinton’s National Deputy Director of Voter Outreach and Mobilization in 2016.”

When I spoke to a male friend who is also a political operative in Biden’s orbit — the first man who had heard the story outside of my staff and close friends years ago — he did what no one else had and made me question myself and wonder if I was doing the right thing. He reminded me that Biden has significant resources and argued points that made me question my memory, even though I’ve replayed that scene in my mind a thousand times. He reminded me that my credibility would be attacked and that I should be prepared for the type of “back and forth” that could occur. (When reached by New York Magazine, a representative for Vice-President Joe Biden declined to comment.)

I’m not suggesting that Biden broke any laws, but the transgressions that society deems minor (or doesn’t even see as transgressions) often feel considerable to the person on the receiving end. That imbalance of power and attention is the whole point — and the whole problem.

Obviously he can. I hope the next Democratic president does the same.

A Democratic president awarding Planned Parenthood a $1.7 million grant would be nice to see.

Snopes: Do Sens. Warren, Booker, Harris and Sanders Pass Fewer Bills Than Other Senators?

Posting in the Warren group for discussion and reference. to Omaha Steve for posting this in the primaries forum.
https://www.democraticunderground.com/128733336

What's True
Only a fraction of the proposed bills sponsored by Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Kamala Harris (D-CA), and Bernie Sanders ( D-VT) have been passed by Congress.

What's False
This phenomenon is not unique to these four senators (as only a very small fraction of all proposed legislation ends up being passed), and the statistics included in the meme are outdated.

A text meme supposedly showcasing the legislative records of various 2020 Democratic presidential candidates — Elizabeth Warren (MA), Cory Booker (NJ), Kamala Harris (CA), and Bernie Sanders (VT) — circulated on social media in March 2019 along with comments about how these lawmakers were ineffective at their jobs for their failure to pass more than a scant handful of bills:

Jay Inslee: Trump's climate change denial makes him a 'clear and present danger' who must

be 'removed from office'

Washington governor and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Jay Inslee said Wednesday that President Trump represents a national security risk because of his "willful ignorance" on climate change and his failure to start protecting military bases from sea level rise.

"He presents a clear and present danger to our national security because he is not responding to the threat of our military infrastructure," Inslee told reporters after his speech at the American Council on Renewable Energy in Washington, D.C. "This isn't about the polar bears. It's about our safety. His willful ignorance on climate change is endangering us all."

Inslee said Trump must be "removed from office" for the federal government to stem the dangers of climate change, which he said could cause the mass migration of people living in vulnerable areas across the world.

"We have to understand the president has to be removed from office if climate change is going to be dealt with," he said. "By him continuing that this is a 'Chinese hoax,' he has debilitated our ability to protect Americans."

He's right. Trump is endangering all of us, our whole world is in danger.

"Vetting is important.

Every... EVERY aspect of a candidate's life is fair game. His (or her) interviews, writings, recordings, votes... successes and failures.
Voters have the right to know if there's something in a candidate's background that would be a "showstopper" for his (or her) campaign during the General Election. By that time, it's too fucking late.

We deserve to know the truth." that's what I hear.

Warren defends Omar from threats of violence over comments on Israel

Thank you Senator Warren.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Wednesday defended Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) after the Minnesota Democrat faced violent threats over comments about Israel she made that some criticized as anti-Semitic.

“We have a moral duty to combat hateful ideologies in our own country and around the world--and that includes both anti-Semitism and Islamophobia. In a democracy, we can and should have an open, respectful debate about the Middle East that focuses on policy,” Warren, who is running for president in 2020, said in a statement to The Hill.

“Branding criticism of Israel as automatically anti-Semitic has a chilling effect on our public discourse and makes it harder to achieve a peaceful solution between Israelis and Palestinians. Threats of violence -- like those made against Rep. Omar -- are never acceptable.”

Omar has been inundated with bipartisan criticism after she suggested pro-Israel groups are pushing members of Congress to have “allegiance to a foreign country.”

Bernie Sanders Called Ilhan Omar to Offer His Support Amid Anti-Semitism Controversy

The senator privately reached out to Omar after she was criticized by both parties for trafficking in anti-Semitic tropes while criticizing U.S. policy on Israel.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) reached out to Rep. Ilhan Omar on Tuesday to offer his support amid criticism from both Democrats and Republicans that the progressive freshman lawmaker trafficked in anti-Semitic tropes on Twitter.

Omar’s office confirmed that the congresswoman spoke with Sanders—who is Jewish—but the conversation was off-record and so they could not go into further details about the contents of the discussion. A source familiar with the conversation confirmed to The Daily Beast that Sanders expressed support for Omar.

Earlier on Thursday, Jewish Insider reported that Sanders was asked about Omar’s tweets on a conference call hosted by James Zogby, founder of the Arab American Institute and a former member of the Democratic National Committee’s executive committee.

“I talked to Ilhan last night to give her my personal support,” Sanders was quoted as saying. “We will stand by our Muslim brothers and sisters.”

Zogby told The Daily Beast the call was off-record when contacted about the veracity of the reporting, but the source familiar with the lawmakers’ conversation confirmed the Jewish Insider story.
