Ani DiFranco, armed "To The Teeth"

The sun is setting on the century
And we are armed to the teeth
We're all working together now
To make our lives mercifully brief
And school kids keep trying to teach us
What guns are all about
Confused liberty with weaponry
And watch your kids act it out
And every year now like Christmas
Some boy gets the milk fed suburban blues
Reaches for the available arsenal
And saunters off to make the news
And the women in the middle
Are learning what poor women have always known
That the edge is closer than you think
When your men bring the guns home

And look at where the profits are, yeah
That's how you'll find the source
Of the big lie that you and I both know so well
In the time it takes this cultural death wish to run its course
They're gonna to make a pretty penny
And then they're all going to hell

And he said the chickens all come home to roost
Yeah, Malcolm forecasted this flood
Are we really going to sleep through another century
While the rich profit off our blood?
And true, may take some doing
To see this undoing through
But in my humble opinion
Here's what I suggest we do

Open fire on Hollywood
Open fire on MTV
Open fire on NBC and CBS and ABC
Open fire on the NRA
And all the lies they told us along the way
Open fire on each weapons manufacturer
While he's giving head to some Republican senator
And if I hear one more time
About a fool's right to his tools of rage
I'm gonna take all my friends
And I'm going to move to Canada
And we're going to die of old age

Woman Dragged Out of West Virginia House Hearing For Listing Oil and Gas Contributions to Members

Lissa Lucas traveled the 100 miles from her home in Cairo, West Virginia to the state capitol in Charleston Friday to testify against an oil and gas industry sponsored bill (HB 4268) that would allow companies to drill on minority mineral owners’ land without their consent.

Lucas began to testify to the House Judiciary Committee, but a few minutes in, her microphone was turned off.

And Lucas was dragged out of the room.

Lucas is running for the House of Delegates from Ritchie County, which has been overrun by the fracking industry.

Ted Lieu #ReleaseTheDemMemo

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Both GOP & Dems voted to release Dem memo. I read it and am convinced @realDonaldTrump is now intentionally hiding relevant information from the American people in order to mislead the public. An innocent person would not block the memo.

Could Mueller be assembling a guilty plea Benedict Donald can't refuse?

Twitter to tell 677,775 people they interacted with Kremlin-linked trolls

Source: CNN

Twitter will inform nearly 700,000 people in the U.S. that they either followed a Kremlin-linked troll account, or retweeted or liked a tweet sent by one of the accounts, the social media company said Friday.

The company last year identified thousands of Twitter accounts associated with the Internet Research Agency, a Russian government-linked troll army in St. Petersburg that worked to meddle in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and to promote chaos and division in American society more generally.

"Consistent with our commitment to transparency, we are emailing notifications to 677,775 people in the United States who followed one of these accounts or retweeted or liked a Tweet from these accounts during the election period," Twitter said in a blog post announcing the move.

Twitter initially said it had found 200 accounts linked to the group. Then it told Congress last fall that it had identified 2,752 accounts linked to the group. On Friday, Twitter said it had since identified an additional 1,062 accounts, bringing the total to 3,814. The accounts together sent more than 175,000 tweets, the company said.

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass Live - 1997 on VH1

Sunrise doesn't last all morning
A cloudburst doesn't last all day

Seems my love is up
And has left you with no warning
But it's not always going
To be this grey
All things must pass
All things must pass away

Sunset doesn't last all evening
A mind can blow those clouds away
After all this my love is up
And must be leaving
But it's not always going
To be this grey

All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
None of life's strings can last
So I must be on my way
And face another day
Now the darkness only stays at night time
In the morning it will fade away

Daylight is good
At arriving at the right time
But it's not always going
To be this way
All things must pass
All things must pass away
All things must pass
All things must pass away

Prince - Uptown

Prince - Uptown

She saw me walking down the streets of your fine city
It kinda turned me on when she looked at me and said, "Come here"
Now I don't usually talk to strangers but she looked so pretty
What can I lose, if I, uh, just give her a little ear?

"What's up little girl?"
"I ain't got time to play"

Baby didn't say too much
She said, "Are you gay?"

Kinda took me by surprise, I didn't know what to do
I just looked her in her eyes and I said, "no, are you?"

Said to myself, said
"She's just a crazy, crazy, crazy little mixed up dame
She's just a victim of society and all its games"

Now where I come from,
We don't let society tell us how it's supposed to be
Our clothes, our hair, we don't care
It's all about being there

Everybody's going uptown
That's where I want to be

Puerto rico is "broken" 100 days after hurricane maria and trump is no help, locals say

It has been 100 days since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, and the U.S. territory is struggling with scarce resources and strained health care services, with about half of the island still lacking power, officials and residents told Newsweek. The struggles drag on as the death toll from the monster storm keeps rising—possibly topping 1,000 people—and local leaders say President Donald Trump still turns a blind eye to the island's pain.

“He has failed the moral imperative that any leader of the free world should hold at the highest level,” San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz said about the recovery efforts.

“All he needs to do is simple: do his job. I think the world has seen a commander in chief unable to command,” she said.
