Women On Tumblr Point Out The Most Common Mistakes In Female Characters Created By Male Writers

Does something like this go too far, or not nearly far enough?

Please don't be this guy... Or the guy who re-tweeted this bullshit:

Today, Glenn Greenwald enters the goalpost-moving Hall of Fame:

I asked Glennbo for a clarification of his remarks, but he said he was too busy because he hasn't finished counting how many times Rachel Maddow said "Russia" over the weekend...

Waffle House shooting suspect Travis Reinking not fit to stand trial

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) UPDATE: A judge ruled accused Waffle House shooter Travis Reinking is not fit to stand trial and will be transferred to a mental health facility.

On Wednesday, a judge said Reinking suffered from a mental illness, which a physiologist identified as Schizophrenia.

Reinking, who is facing four counts of murder, will be transferred to Middle Tennessee Health Institute.

The transfer to a mental hospital does not mean Reinking won't have to stand trial, but it's likely cause a delay for months.

Psychologist Rena Isen testified that Reinking is mentally unstable and is a danger to himself or others. Isen believes Reinking's mental illness can be treated with medication.

Once it's determined that Reinking is legally competent, the hospital will immediately notify the court and Reinking will be transferred back to jail. Per state law, a check of Reinking's competency will be done every six months or more frequently.

Japan's first woman fighter pilot to blaze a trail in skies

First Lieutenant Misa Matsushima, 26, will begin duty on Friday having completed her training to fly F-15s, Japan's military has announced.

"As the first female (fighter) pilot, I will open the way," she told reporters.

Japan's air force began recruiting women in 1993 - except as fighter jet and reconnaissance aircraft pilots. It lifted that final ban in late 2015.

"Ever since I saw the movie Top Gun when I was in primary school, I have always admired fighter jet pilots," the graduate of Japan's National Defence Academy told journalists.

"I wish to continue to work hard to fulfil my duty - not just for myself but also for women who will follow this path in the future."

Three other women are currently training to join the elite group of fighter pilots.

The F-15J fighter jets they will pilot are twin-engine aircrafts designed for air-to-air combat with other jets. They can reach top speeds of about Mach 2.5 - 2.5 times the speed of sound or about 3,000 km/h (1,864 miles/h).

MEANWHILE, in Germany...

Your Daily Greenwald, "Political Purges are a GOOD Thing!" Edition:

France is way ahead of us... WAY ahead!!!

Nope, Those Aren't Mailboxes: Paris Rolls Out Sidewalk Urinals

In Paris, authorities are taking an unusual approach to combat the scourge of public urination: Make urination even more public.

The city is experimenting with completely exposed, eco-friendly urinals.

The devices are called "Uritrottoir," which combines the words for urinal and pavement. They're not at all subtle. They're bright red and in heavily trafficked areas for example, directly next to the Seine near the Notre Dame Cathedral.

And if there's any confusion, a large white and red sign with a red arrow and a cartoon of a man peeing probably clears it up.
