Today I observe, but not celebrate, an anniversary.
Today is 28 years of sobriety for me. I don't consider bit to be particularly remarkable, but simply a continuation of a long string of "one day at a time" decisions.
If you are struggling with alcoholism or any other form of addiction, I promise you that you CAN get here from there. Life will not be perfect, but I promise you that it will be better.
In my boozing days my wife wouldn't have given me a second look and I wouldn't have deserved it.
