What do you, your family and friends, say when some one sneezes? 'Gesundheit'? 'Bless you'?

Born in 1940, I grew up in OK only hearing 'Gesundheit.' It was only in the 70s and 80s in IA that I began hearing 'Bless you.'

Gesundheit is a German word that translates as health.

Remember mag ad--coy pic of pretty woman with this question 'Does she or doesn't she?'

Then in (much?) smaller print 'Only her hairdresser knows for sure.'

As a young kid, I found this ad puzzling and weird. It just didn't make any sense to me.

Ad companies have always known how to play...

Coppertone post reminded me of this ad.

Need modern Elliot Ness. He went after gangster bootleggers. Ours to go after gangster WH

Thinking of the hero of the tv show. IIRC there were always scenes of good guys busting up lairs of bad guys.

Anyone here read shifter novels? Authors keep coming up with new animals,eg margay cats

New to me, that is. A main female shifter in bk 2 of Suzanne Wright's series Mercury Pack. See wikipedia and videos in youtube.

Has there been any study about why shifter novels have become so popular in recent years?

Anyone here ever see the movie Mon Oncle? It's French, often only available dubbed in English

Movie doesn't need dubbing. Completely understandable even if you don't speak/understand a word of French!

Mustn't harm poor Americans with the sound of anything other than English!

If groundhog sees his shadow, what will be the effect on the Russia investigation??

Given the importance in American culture of groundhog day, we all know there's bound to be some effect.

Anyone remember Minnie Pearl? Loved her self intro. Or Judy Canova?

I don't remember my folks being much for Grand Ol' Opry, but I remember how she always started off.

I never understood the point of Judy Canova. But for some reason my dad, very repressed type, loved her show. Don't remember if tv or radio.

Each of these two have videos on youtube.
