Are pickled pigs feet a very common snack in US today?

My mom (b 1913 in MO) ate them now and then when I was a kid. I think she said she started eating them when she was pregnant.

(Song learned in 40s)Last night as I lay on my pillow, Last night as I lay on my bed,

I stuck my feet out the window.

Next morning my neighbors were dead!

Oh bring back, oh bring back, oh bring back my neighbors to me, to me.

Oh bring back, oh bring back, oh bring back my neighbors to me!

'OUR neeegroes are very happy. It's all these outside agitators that are causing trouble!!!'

Common southern white cry during the Civil Rights era.

Remember seeing a heavy-set bearded white politician saying this during a discussion at some Democratic National Convention.

Also remember watching the 1976 Democratic Convention when the Carters, the Veep nominee's family came together on the platform to celebrate the 76 nominees--they led the convention in singing 'We shall overcome,' the call to arms of the Civil Rights Movement.

Do boarding houses, rooming houses still exist? They're common in pre-WWII novels

Note--my grandmother ran one until late 30s.

Why, oh why do avowedly liberal sites constantly attack dems? Esp now

I understand people get unhappy that dem leaders aren't doing what they (the complainers) think is the right approach. But why not suggest that readers get out, get involved, help work on strategy.

From the little I saw of the work the dem county chair did during a campaign I was in awe. There was so much more involved than what I had ever imagined.

I don't know the actual background of those writing the doom-and-gloom attacks.

But rather than join in on the perenniel complaint that the national or local dems aren't doing it right, aren't making the effective moves, why not get involved and start to help set strategies that you think are effective? And surprise-- you just might discover that your view is limited by your experience and that other people with different experuences might just see something you have been missing.
