Sean Spicer Retweeted The Onion And The Internet Will Never Let Him Live It Down (SCREENSHOTS)

Ever get the feeling that at any point during one of Trump’s weekly addresses Ashton Kutcher is going to jump out and tell us we’ve been “punked?” White House press secretary continued his tradition of making a complete and total ass out of himself Sunday when he retweeted a video he thought was praising him. Oh, yeah, and it was from The Onion.

“You nailed it,” Spicer wrote in response to a video he clearly did not comprehend accompanied by text he clearly barely read. “Period.”

The Onion video says Spicer’s role in Trump’s administration is “to provide the American public with robust and clearly articulated misinformation” — like that Trump attracted the “largest audience to witness an inauguration, period” — and describes his speaking style as “defensive.”

While it’s possible — but not probable — that Spicer understands that he was being mocked and retweeted the video ironically, the Internet seized upon the opportunity to have a few laughs at Trump’s mouthpiece:

Bel Air Police detain woman walking, question her immigration status

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/harford/aegis/ph-ag-immigration-0127-20170126-story.html

Police agencies in Harford County say they don't stop people just to check their immigration status, but the recent experience of a Bel Air woman raises questions about how clearly that's understood by officers on his streets, the town's police chief admits.

Bel Air Police Department Chief Charles Moore, who's led the agency since September 2015, said he's not sure if his department has a policy specifically dealing with questioning a person's immigration status, but added: "If there isn't one, there will be."

In the wake of President Trump's statements on Wednesday that federal grants may be withheld from so-called "sanctuary cities" that don't take enforcement actions against people who are in the United States illegally, Moore and other law enforcement leaders in the county could find they have to walk an even finer line between civil liberties and checking for undocumented aliens.

Trump also is expected to suspend issuing visas for people from several predominantly Muslim countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — for at least 30 days, according to a draft executive order obtained by The Associated Press, as reported Wednesday by Tribune News Service.

There's video at the link. This person's accent sounds like an American. But she doesn't look like an American...to racists!

Freepers will say that growing up they didn't have any neighbors with names like Aravinda Pillalamarri.

This hits close to home as it's in liberal Maryland near Aberdeen.

Its ridiculous to say the Defense Department is trolling Trump on Twitter, Pentagon says

The suggestion that the Defense Department has posted social media messages as a form of protest to President Trump is “ridiculous,” a Pentagon spokesman said Thursday.

Navy Capt. Jeff Davis told reporters that recent messages posted on the Defense Department Twitter page are nothing out of the ordinary, and part of steady communication with the general public, active-duty troops and veterans. The question came after the Defense Department tweeted a story Wednesday about a former Iraqi refugee who enlisted in the Marine Corps after reports emerged that Trump, who was sworn in Friday, was considering an executive order seeking to halt refugee resettlement in the United States.

The tweet linked to a Defense Department news release that shared the story of Cpl. Ali J. Mohammed, who grew up in Baghdad, and moved to the United States at 16 years old after his family received numerous threats for supporting U.S. policies. He joined the Marines in November 2014.

“If you look at this, this isn’t some unique thing,” Davis said. “If you look at this, we are tweeting from the Department of Defense account a dozen or more times a day.”

I may or may not know some millennials doing social media for the Pentagon. I can't confirm or deny this.

Resist!

A Florida mom put her 10-year-old in a timeout. Then came the gunshot, police say

Source: Associated Press

Fifth-grader Ian Sevostjanov was getting ready for school Thursday morning when he got himself in trouble.

The 10-year-old boy was sent to a room by his mom, Olga Grusetskaja, 49, in the apartment where their family lives in Clearwater, Fla., authorities said. Grusetskaja was “addressing a behavioral issue,” according to police.

In the room, Ian found a gun, authorities said, which he used to fire a “lone shot” at himself.

First responders did “everything they could” to treat the boy, Clearwater Police Chief Dan Slaughter said at a news conference Thursday morning, but their lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. Ian was pronounced dead at the scene.

We are only 6 days into 2017 and already a young child dies by his parent's gun. Florida Mom

the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence released a jarring PSA in October with a satirical message: “Guns don’t kill people, toddlers kill people.” It featured fictitious mug shots of children in diapers and onesies, cast as criminals who must be locked up — a way to make a point about gun safety.

“This PSA is satire,” Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign, told The Washington Post at the time. “But the public health crisis it calls attention to is anything but. Whether the trigger is pulled by a toddler, a convicted felon, domestic abuser or terrorist, we have a problem in America with guns too easily falling into the wrong hands. And that translates to hundreds of lives lost or changed forever every single day.”

The boys’ parents, Olga Grusetskaja and her husband, identified by the Times as Leonid Sevostjanov, were described as caring parents.

“They’re very protective of their kids,” Patricia Rudd, who knows the family, told ABC Action News. “Shocking, I cannot imagine what they’re going through right now.”

Watch the Trumpers blame this on immigration or some such nonsense, since it's obviously not the gun's fault. The gun didn't do it. The kid could have just as easily had the exact same result if he grabbed a kitchen knife, or a hammer, or an iron, or a hot tea kettle.

They always claim that liberals are sitting ducks for violent crime, but I think there is less child death is gun-free houses. Maybe if the GOP didn't ban the CDC from collecting data on gun deaths we could quantify and measure the problem.

About IronLionZion

If an H-1b has an American accent, they are probably not an H-1b. It's race, not citizenship. Americans are more diverse than you think. Millions of US citizens don't look the way you might expect. This fact is very important and will help us win elections.
