Jill Wine-Banks: It should frighten Trump's most ardent supporters.

Per capita the US does not lead the world in testing as Trump claims. We are ranked 41st

The US is 41st in testing per capita with only 29,000 tests per million people compared to Iceland which tests 160,000 per million https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

And Iceland isn't even number one. It's the Faeroe Islands. LOL with 175,000 tests per million. No, they don't have a million people but you get the idea.

Trump throws TANTRUM, makes RACIST remark, gets CHOKESLAMMED by simple questions

Almost spit my drink out! LOL It should be changed to "The Trump Administration" though.

For anyone interested, here is Judy Mikovits paper that was retracted by the Journal of Science

When you can't make it as a real scientist you get all huffy then head over and make friends with the anti-science frauds like Natural News, Dr. Mercola etc. I really can't stand people like this. Judy, accept reality, pull up your pants and try again doing it better the next time. Don't sell your soul and become a danger to humanity to get back at those who do good science.

PS. For anyone who isn't familiar with Judy Mikovits. She is the anti vax scum behind the video Plandemic accusing Fauci and others of mass genocide.

Why we're seeing mass layoffs in the US but not the UK

Anxious About the Virus, Older Voters Grow More Wary of Trump

If Trump loses his older voters, this fall could be an absolute landslide for Biden. Trump is in a no win situation now that he let this get out of control. Open the economy and put old folks at risk. Don't open the economy and keep old folks happy. However, opening the economy isn't going to help much as we have seen with Sweden. They never closed but still have a 70% slowdown. I don't see the economy coming back until there is a vaccine.

WASHINGTON — The coronavirus crisis and the administration’s halting response to it have cost President Trump support from one of his most crucial constituencies: America’s seniors.

For years, Republicans and Mr. Trump have relied on older Americans, the country’s largest voting bloc, to offset a huge advantage Democrats enjoy with younger voters. In critical states like Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Florida, all of which have large older populations, Mr. Trump’s advantage with older voters has been essential to his political success; in 2016, he won voters over the age of 65 by seven percentage points, according to national exit poll data.

But seniors are also the most vulnerable to the global pandemic, and the campaign’s internal polls, people familiar with the numbers said, show Mr. Trump’s support among voters over the age of 65 softening to a concerning degree, as he pushes to reopen the country’s economy at the expense of stopping a virus that puts them at the greatest risk.

A recent Morning Consult poll found that Mr. Trump’s approval rating on the handling of the coronavirus was lower with seniors than with any other group other than young voters. And Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., the presumptive Democratic nominee, in recent polls held a 10-point advantage over Mr. Trump among voters who are 65 and older. A poll commissioned by the campaign showed a similar double-digit gap.

Fact-checking Judy Mikovits, the controversial virologist attacking Anthony Fauci in a viral conspiracy video

By Martin Enserink, Jon CohenMay. 8, 2020 , 6:20 PM

In a video that has exploded on social media in the past few days, virologist Judy Mikovits claims the new coronavirus is being wrongly blamed for many deaths. She makes head-scratching assertions about the virus—for instance, that it is “activated” by face masks.

Mikovits also accuses Anthony Fauci, head of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and a prominent member of the White House’s Coronavirus Task Force, of being responsible for the deaths of millions during the early years of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The video claims Mikovits was part of the team that discovered HIV, revolutionized HIV treatment, and was jailed without charges for her scientific positions.

Science fact-checked the video. None of these claims are true. The video is an excerpt from a forthcoming movie Plandemic, which promises to “expose the scientific and political elite who run the scam that is our global health system.” YouTube, Facebook, and other platforms have taken down the video because of inaccuracies. It keeps resurfacing, including on the Plandemic website, which, in “an effort to bypass the gatekeepers of free speech,” invites people to download the video and repost it.

But first, who is Judy Mikovits?

Mikovits started her career as a lab technician at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in 1988. She became a scientist and obtained a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from George Washington University in 1991. By 2009, she was research director at the Whittemore Peterson Institute (WPI), a private research center in Reno, Nevada, but she remained largely unknown to the scientific community. That year, however, she co-authored a paper in Science that suggested an obscure agent named xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus (XMRV) caused chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).
