Wall Street is getting tired of funding socially conservative Republicans running for president

(Reuters/Brian Snyder) Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz. His wife may have worked at Goldman, but this is not Wall Street's guy.

For years, when it came to presidential candidates, Wall Street made huge compromises in order to support the Republican Party.

The money men in New York City set aside their socially liberal views in order to support fiscally conservative candidates because that was the only way to get on the same page as the GOP base.

The result has been a series of candidates Wall Street's big donors didn't really want.

It seems those donors are getting tired of that outcome.

Hedge fund billionaire Leon Cooperman recently vented his frustration with this arrangement on an episode of Wall Street Week.

"I tend to be more Republican in my views, but socially very liberal. I'm going to have trouble with any Republican that does not disavow a fixation with social issues," he said.

"Republicans have to understand that because young people in our country are not grabbed by those issues."

Woman who applied to become border patrol gets tasered by border patrol for knowing her rights

Video Below

Jessica Cooke, a recently graduated 21-year-old from Ogdensburg, New York, was driving from Norfolk to Ogdensburg to see her boyfriend when she was pulled over by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent. This could have been exciting for Ms. Cooke since she had recently applied for a job with the CBP (her degree is in Law Enforcement Leadership). Ms. Cooke understood that she was within 100 miles of the Canadian border and therefore subject to an internal immigration checkpoint. However, after she had presented her driver's license, she was asked to go into a secondary inspection area. At this time she decided to ask why she was being detained, since without "reasonable suspicion" law enforcement cannot detain you—even if you're a meth addict being all twitchy. Things began to unravel from there and Ms. Cooke decided to record from that point on:

A male agent who identifies himself as a supervisor has no explanation for the detention, but he says Cooke will have to wait for a drug-sniffing dog to inspect her car. "Well, they'd better be here soon, because if not, I'm calling 911, and this can all be figured out," Cooke says. "You guys are holding me here against my will." Eventually the female agent who first interacted with Cooke says she seemed nervous—an all-purpose excuse for detaining someone, since people tend to be nervous when confronted by armed government officials.
[...]
"If they're not here within 20 minutes, I'm gone," Cooke says. "You can leave," the male agent says. "You can walk down the road right now....Your car's not going anywhere....I'll spike the tires." After Cooke refuses to comply with his order to "stand over there" instead of "here," they have this exchange:
CBP agent: I'm going to tell you one more time, and then I'm going to move you.

Cooke: If you touch me, I will sue your ass. Do you understand me?

CBP agent: Go for it.

Cooke: Touch me then.

CBP agent: Move over there.

Cooke: Go ahead. Touch me.

CBP agent: I'm telling you to move over there.
At this point the "supervisor" grabs Cooke and then you can hear Cooke screaming and lots of cursing and a repeated asking of Cooke to the CBP agents to "get it out of my back."

Congressman tongue lashed Paul Ryan for another silly Obamacare hearing (VIDEO)

Link with video: http://egbertowillies.com/2015/06/12/congressman-tongue-lashed-paul-ryan-for-another-silly-obamacare-hearing-video/

Ways and Means Committee Chairman Congressman Paul Ryan had one of his unscheduled Obamacare bashing hearings this week. He continued to misinform with an opening speech that showed that the congressman and his ilk continue to put politics over the well-being of Americans.

Paul Ryan claimed that the answer is to repeal and replace the law. Yet, Republicans have had over five years to come up with something different that could reduce the deficit, provide healthcare, and remain completely private. The reason they cannot is that Obamacare used Republican tenets to build Obamacare, a private based system. Had the President implemented Medicare for all (single payer) by getting rid of insurance companies that continue to skim up to 20% of premiums for false overhead and profits, they could demagogue and attempt to change it to a more inefficient system. That was the genius of Obamacare. It was built on the Conservative Heritage Foundation principles that most Republicans once supported along with a dose of progressive middle-class protections.

“So whatever the Supreme Court decides later this month,” Paul Ryan said. “I think the lesson is absolutely clear. Obamacare is just flat busted. It just doesn’t work. And no fix can change that fact.”

That statement makes Congressman Paul Ryan a liar. There is enough data to prove that statement is a lie. Paul Ryan knows that statement is a lie. The media knows that statement is a lie. Yet very few have made Paul Ryan or Republicans pay for those lies.

Top 10 Hoaxes of All Time - Check out #4 if you don't want to wach the whole video.

It starts around the 6:05 mark.

However the video fails to mention this part:

The classified documents detailing an Iraqi approach to purchase yellowcake uranium from Niger were considered dubious by many analysts in U.S. intelligence, according to news accounts. By early 2002, separate investigations by both the CIA and the US State Department had found the documents to be inaccurate. Days before the Iraq invasion, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) voiced serious doubt on the authenticity of the documents to the UN Security Council, judging them counterfeit.

And yet they still made it into Bush's 2003 State of the Union Address.

15-Year-Old Who Shot McKinney Pool Party Video Speaks Out (With video)

MCKINNEY, TX – Brandon Brooks, the 15-year-old boy who shot the McKinney pool party video that’s being broadcast around the world, is telling his side of the story to NewsFix.

“The cops showed up and the parents immediately started yelling, ‘you need more cops, there’s too many of them.’ And most of the kids weren’t even involved. It was a fight between a mom and girl, which had nothing to do with all the other kids that she apparently needed more cops for,” Brooks explained.

That’s when Brooks says the officer, reportedly identified as Cpl. Eric Casebolt, arrived on the scene and flipped out.

“He trips and drops his flashlight. He’s going crazy, putting people in handcuffs, tackling people, slinging them on the ground.”

So, why wasn’t Brooks handcuffed?

“I was one of the only white people in the area when that was happening. You can see in part of the video where he tells us to sit down, and he kinda like skips over me and tells all my African-American friends to go sit down.”

The Greatness of the United States is Dying – and Conservatives are the Ones Killing It

June 7, 2015 By Allen Clifton

Can someone please explain to me one “great” thing that conservative ideology has brought to this country? I just don’t get it. Even as much as Republicans worship at the temple of Ronald Reagan, what did he really do? And don’t even give me the “he ended the Cold War” nonsense. The wheels were put in motion for the downfall of the Soviet Union long before Reagan ever became president, he just happened to be the president when it finally all came crashing down.

To be honest, to find the last great Republican we have to go all the way back to the 50?s and Dwight D. Eisenhower, someone who the modern-day GOP would consider a radical socialist if he were running for office today. Eisenhower was a president who presided over much higher taxes than we have today, who built the Interstate Highway System and believed that taxes shouldn’t be cut until the budget was balanced.

That’s what you call “fiscally responsible.”

But it’s rare to see any Republicans cite Eisenhower when spewing their usual right-wing propaganda. They worship Reagan, a man who nearly tripled our national debt in eight years and never once balanced the budget, as a “conservative icon” – yet mostly ignore the last president from their party who actually showed true fiscal responsibility.
