Obama urges wealthy people to give back: "Let me pay a little more in taxes"

This is so good!

Ex-Obama Secret Service Agent Reveals What Barack Was Like When The Cameras Weren't On Him

Snip: I will say that, personally, I have differed on many of President Obama’s stances in politics. I do not support much of his political agenda.

With that stated… Senator Obama, Mrs. Obama and their two daughters were always extremely cordial and appreciative for everything that we provided them.”

“They were engaging with us, asking us about our families and making sure that we were provided for.

On numerous occasions, Mr. Obama would ask me how my wife was doing (she was pregnant with our first child), and wished her the best.

I never, never saw him belittle another person, I never witnessed him do anything behind his wife’s back… For all of my political differences with Barack Obama, I will be the first to say that he is a very decent man.”

Paul Krugman - New Deal Created the Middle Class

Don't claim to be an expert here, but if Republican's can win by going extreme right why can't Dems

go left and win? Trump was as far right as they come. I know many will say he didn't really win but even if it was Russia and Comey that put him over the top, it had to be pretty close to put him in striking distance.

I am not taking a position, just asking the question to get some thoughts. There are more Democrats than Republicans so you would think it could work to our favor to get the base excited.

Thoughts? I am open to hearing both sides on this because the election coming up is extremely important.

Recession Could Be Closer Than Most Realize

Snip: Simply put: when the consumer catches a cold, the entire economy can get pneumonia.

Something like that appears to be happening. Retail sales are down sharply due to a combination of weak wage growth, income inequality (“average” gains have been heavily skewed to the wealthy, leaving most Americans worse off), and deflationary expectations.

Meanwhile, consumer confidence has fallen to the lowest level since November, and consumer spending fell in May. Inflation was also lower in May.

On top of this, the Fed is creating headwinds with rate hikes and by reducing the money supply through its new program of quantitative tightening, or QT. With stock market indices hitting new all-time highs almost daily, and the economy hitting stall speed, a severe stock market correction is in the cards.

Robert Reich: We're Living a Constitutional Crisis

If Dems could just pull in 3 to 5% more in rural areas we would be invincible

The other day I posted that I was in Dallas, TX and I must have seen 100 Beto signs and zero Cruz signs. This was happening in wealthy areas like Highland Park. Yet Beto still trails Cruz by 9 points in Texas because rural areas vote Republican at some absurd rate like 75% to 25%. Somehow the Democratic Party needs to start working on ways to peel off just a few rural voters to close the enormous gap that is overwhelming the city votes. I really think we need to consider putting a Democratic Cowboy as the VP candidate. Someone like Brian Schweitzer maybe? Having grown up in New Mexico with Democratic Gov. Bruce King who people loved in New Mexico even when the state used to be red back in the 1970's, 80's and 90's, I am telling you, if you can put someone in that knows how to shoot the breeze and talk to rural folks you can start making progress in closing the gap. I am sure there are many rural issues we could do better with as well but it takes someone who they can relate to to deliver the message.

Here are some notable Cowboy Democrats who were very popular and this is the look we need:

Study: Voter purges on the rise after 2013 Supreme Court ruling

States with a history of racial discrimination are reportedly purging their voter rolls at higher rates than other states.

That's according to a new study out Friday by the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice. The center reviewed voter purges across the country from 2012 to 2016 and found they were occurring at a higher rate in states that, before 2013, had special restrictions under the Voting Rights Act.

That year, the Supreme Court struck down a part of the law which required nine states with a history of discriminating against minorities to get the Justice Department's permission before changing their election laws.

Maybe we should run Kurt Russell for President to strip away Trump voters?

Trump voters are obviously a gold mine for the PT Barnum's of the world. All scenes from the movie Used Cars
