Donald Trump Admits His Supporters Were Violent and Nasty, But Says Theyre Mellow Now

“I mean, you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right?”

Donald Trump has finally conceded Friday that his supporters were “vicious, violent, nasty and mean” during the presidential campaign. But he insists they’ve turned “mellow” now that he’s the president-elect.

Trump’s praise for his more laid-back supporters was a marked departure from his earlier calls for violence at campaign rallies, including urging followers in Iowa to “knock the crap” out of protesters and offering to cover legal fees for assaults. And his fans chanted their approval of Trump’s vow to imprison his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, though he’s since admitted he only made the threat to win votes.

His crowds could get ugly, Trump conceded Friday in a speech before some 11,000 fans in Orlando, Florida, that’s part of his “thank you” tour.

“You people were vicious, violent, screaming, ‘Where’s the wall? We want the wall!’ Screaming, ‘Prison! Prison! Lock her up!’ I mean you are going crazy. I mean, you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right?” said Trump, speaking from an outdoor stage at the Florida fairgrounds.

I am interested in rural Dems checking in with ideas for Dems to attract rural voters

I work in a lot of rural towns and have a lot of family in small towns and for whatever reason rural voters don't connect with the Democrats we have been running. I personally feel like I can connect with them a lot better than the candidates we have been running. Growing up in New Mexico we had a popular Democratic Gov. named Bruce King.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_King

He was born in a tiny rural town and was very much a cowboy. He connected to rural folks as does Brian Schweitzer from Montana. Meeting these folks, many are absolutely wonderful, welcoming people and I think if someone just reaches out to them in a way they can connect with I think many can become Democratic voters. It may just be a matter of explaining why Democratic policies will help them and Republican policies will hurt them but they need to feel like the candidate understands them, is reaching out and cares about them. Howard Dean had the right idea with his 50 state strategy. Remember, we don't have to win a crap load of rural voters, just 2 or 3% more than we normally get to solidify a few close states. However, I see no reason why we should not be able to get 50% or more of the rural vote. We already get 40 to 50% in many rura areas. Rural areas are purple, not red.

Lets remember that George Bush reached out to Hispanic voters and did quite well with them. We don't have to abandon our core values to court these folks. If someone like Trump can win their votes, a New York City Yankee, certainly we can! By the way, I would never run Ed Schultz but he knows how to connect with the "Heartland". This is how you do it:

Comcast Xfinity's repair trucks cause multiple slide offs and collision.

These guys drive me nuts. Sometimes the required regulations are not sufficient and a little common sense and simply caring about peoples well-being can prevent this kind of escalating chaos. After the first accident had occurred a person with any kind of brain would become concerned and wonder what more needed to be done to make the situation safe. I hope these guys got fired and OSHA re-evaluates the procedures for snowy roads and blind hills.

Swedish towns told to 'make preparations regarding the threat of war and conflict' with Russia

Source: The Telegraph

Sweden’s towns and villages have been ordered to make preparations for a possible military attack in the latest sign of the country’s growing anxiety at its newly belligerent Russian neighbour.

The country’s Civil Contingency Agency (MSB) last week sent a letter to local authorities across the country asking them to maintain operations centres in underground bunkers, ensure that a system of emergency sirens is in place, and to be open to cooperating on war exercises with the Swedish Armed Forces.

“In a state of war, civil defence for municipalities is no different from any of the other services they should provide,” the letter read, instructing local governments to “ensure their ability to maintain their functions during disturbed situations, and at the most extreme, in a war scenario.”

The dramatic call comes as Sweden returns to the Total Defence Strategy it maintained during the Cold War, reconstituting its old coastal anti-ship missile system, placing an armoured division on the exposed Baltic island of Gotland, and making plans to restart compulsory conscription as early as 2018.

There needs to be more discussion about epic protests on inauguration day

Every city in the country should have epic protests. Washington inauguration parade should be shut down. Ideas?

Is it possible Joe Walsh is sounding sane because he is worried about 2018?

It has to be on his mind that as unpopular as Trump is there will be a tidal wave of backlash against Trump in two years and Dems will probably take back both houses. It's just hard for me to believe he went from bat shit crazy to suddenly sounding like one of the few sane Republicans. I suppose it is possible he puts country before party but he hasn't seemed the type. I am very suspicious.
