We'll see. A more accurate headline is likely to be:

"Corporatists are now certain they have the votes to override a veto."

We have lots of experience as to how this con game works. The president will not veto unless he is assured of the votes to override it and protect the corporate assault.

Yes, I'm cynical, with lots of good reasons rooted in the administration's own behavior over the past six years. I find the corporate PR about his desire to stop Keystone about as convincing as the story that he is trying valiantly to defend net neutrality against the "rogue" FCC chair HE HIMSELF appointed.

Yes, that's my prediction. The veto is overridden, and we get more brazen, insulting Kabuki about how the president did his best.

I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't bet on it...

One problem I see is that the world is getting smaller and smaller.

The oligarchs we talk about today are not oligarchs of a country. They are complicit with global corporations, transnational conglomerates.

They are eating up countries, sucking their husks dry, and spitting out the carcasses.

We sit at the core of the malignancy. As long as there is a prayer of stopping them, we need to be trying to do that.

If they aren't stopped, they will eventually expand to wherever you run, or send your children. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon.

What a brazen propaganda state we live in. "The president's position." What a glorious, brazenly false talking point. Probably the most stunning and widely disseminated example of "2+2=5" we have seen this month.

The president appointed these vipers. This Kabuki was the plan all along.

The corporate narrative is horseshit. If we believed it, we would believe the entire administration had gone "rogue" since 2008. And yet here is another great heaping shovelful of delusion.

Thanks for pointing out, consistently, the moral bankruptcy of these vipers and their shills.

Record numbers of homeless children, that sort of thing. (Fortunately for you, the police state you've created keeps the unsightly urchins from view as you walk from your limo to your fabulous dinner parties, but they're out there, cold and hungry.)

Those who murder democracy hire lots of amoral voices to try to steer the conversation away from the real despair they cause. Thank you for rubbing their faces in it. If there are consciences there somewhere under all the spinning, they need to be rubbed in it, badly. If there aren't, they need to be exposed for what they are.

We misunderstand our politicians and 2014 politics when we assume their goal is winning.

That was the old system, democracy.

In oligarchy, the goal is using the two parties you own in whichever way best furthers the corporate agenda of the oligarchy.
