Mad_Machine76's JournalHow long does it take to go from being "soon-to-haves" to "haves"?
What does one need to do? Inquiring minds would like to know, Mitch.
You're right
He ain't much on speeches!
Thanks for the good laugh DI. Fits Daniels to a "T"!
When it comes to the economy
Tax cuts, (more) deregulation, and privatization of just about everything except for the military are pretty much the only palatable "solutions" to them.
I don't get the visceral hatred expressed by the right towards President Obama
It's so OTT sometimes it's hard to believe that they don't hate him simply for being black, Democratic, or POTUS- or all three. Their anger and hatred has no rational basis like, say, we had regarding Bush/Cheney. I keep trying to figure out what Obama has done/hasn't done that's been so awful for our country and could have possibly offended these people so badly- but I keep drawing a blank (aside from the three things I previously mentioned).
I didn't get the right's visceral hatred of President Clinton either.
Plus they keep using it as an excuse to cut funding for and spending more on social programs
yet, of course, there is always plenty of money that can be spent on the military and tax cuts for the wealthy- and people fall for their patently obvious schtick over and over and over and over and over......................again!
At this very moment, the Republicans (and hawkish Dems like Lieberman) are trying to welsh out on their agreement to cut defense spending in the wake of the failure of the deficit supercommittee but are almost certainly not interested in restoring the medicare provider cuts. This should tell us everything we should know about how genuine their concern about the deficit is.
"Stay Tuned": Expect More GOP House "Oversight" of Obama Leading Up To Election 2012

It doesn't even matter whether or not it's true
that's not even the point to Gingrich. It's offensive and it's a "dog-whistle" to the racist GOP base.
However, frankly, I would be proud to be known as a "Food Stamp President" that helps make sure people have food during these tough economic times (that Gingrich and his ilk are largely responsible for due to their policies) rather than a "Let-Them-Die-Hungry-In-The-Streets President" who seeks to deny needy people assistance. If Gingrich and his ilk are so obsessed with getting people a paycheck, you'd never know it-judging by their inattention to the task of actually creating jobs (and no, seeking to cut domestic spending to the bone has NOTHING to do with creating jobs!)

I totally agree with you
It's really aggravating, frankly, to hear what they spew against Obama and knowing that their "base", along with some "indies", eagerly lap all that BS up and treat it as gospel even though they don't take even a microsecond to THINK about what they're hearing and whether or not it is actually true. They also have nothing substantive to attack him over nor are they actually even proposing anything substantive to deal with all of the "problems" they cite other than simply electing one of them POTUS.
No he is the pill wrapped in the muffin
The "angry attack" one.
Thanks for that gem, Peggy (about the only worthwhile comment you've EVER made)!
