Mad_Machine76's JournalI thought that Teleprompters were bad- according to wingnuts
Wingnuts had an heyday at one time stupidly poking fun at Obama for using Teleprompters (like every other President before him) and claiming that he wasn't quick enough on his feet, rhetorically and intellectually, to be without one (except that he demonstrated time after time that he could rhetorically and intellectually best any Republican on any given day). Trump gives one (from what I understand) coherent speech using a teleprompter and he is being treated as though his campaign is now miraculously recovering from the disaster that it's been going all the way back to the beginning of it all.
I agree
His ego won't let him leave and it would be (even more) disastrous for the GOP if he did, so he's not going anywhere IMHO. My prediction is that the GOP establishment is preparing to (or already has) write off the Presidential election this year and will try to salvage the down ballot races. Trump will lose in November and declare massive fraud/rigging (which will, of course, be a massive lie) to help excuse his loss, as well as keep the Republican base all fired up to go after Hillary for the next 4 years and to try to take Hillary down in 2020.
Yeah
but five seconds after Clinton wins (yuuuuuge!!!) on Election Night, they will go right back to being the "loyal opposition" and making wild accusations/smears against hear and we will probably end up with 50 or so more Benghazi investigations (if they still control any part of Congress).
I'd like to be wrong about this but............
I agree
I think that what bugs them- and a lot of Americans- is the idea that they might *gasp* be forced by government to have change some of their habits/lifestyle to make the planet............well.....habitable for the foreseeable future.
Because
maybe one or two "experts" don't agree or aren't sure when almost everybody else is. But, hey, let's give THEM veto power over actually doing anything.
He seems to be rather thin-skinned
so, anything short of kneeling and kissing his ring and saying that he's the greatest thing since sliced bread makes him mad. I could really see him being this country's Kim Jong (whatever version they're on now)-style POTUS should we suffer the misfortune of him somehow winning in November.
