I think that it sometimes a matter of picking our battles

and I think that too, when you have the Republicans in all-out war against a President of your own party, there's a tendency to want to protect him from the slings and arrows coming at him/her so that he/she can get other, more important, things done. Maybe that might look like "blind support" but, at least for me, I don't want to see Democratic Presidency after Democratic Presidency torn down by the Republican Noise Machine, nor by anybody else over lack of ideological purity. I also feel like we won in 2008 and then a lot of people wanted to get every social ill from the last 30 years resolved and are getting mad that President Obama hasn't expended enough time and/or resources to tackle every single "bad" thing out there at once despite the practical impossibility of doing so, particularly after 2010 when he got severely hobbled by a bad election of a bunch of right-wing anarchists obsessed with obstructionism, which has continued to persist to this day. We need to work hard(er) at the state and local levels and root out these teabaggers and elect people whom will support our goals and aims and do what we can to support President Obama as he fights off Republican obstructionism towards achieving his broader goals which, in general, I think we all agree with.

It's just weird how much they hate people having the means to care for themselves. I was always raised to believe that having some kind of health insurance coverage for myself (and my family) was the RESPONSIBLE thing to do because EVERYBODY occasionally gets sick and needs to go visit the doctor and maybe even have a test run to make sure that that symptom you're having isn't a sign of something serious. Of course, coverage wasn't quite expensive and didn't suck as much at one time but hopefully that problem is on the way to being fixed thanks to Obamacare.

Hope it backfires horribly for them.

The ferocity of their efforts to repeal Obamacare is simply getting disgusting

It's one thing to want to know from your constituents what's working with the law, what's not working, and trying to figure out what they can do to fix it when they go back but that would be expecting them to do their jobs and be constructive. They would rather just fool people into believing all kinds of lies about the law so that they can just get rid of it and go back to the way things were regardless of how detrimental it was to so many people. Sure, the law isn't perfect. Sure, there's some kinks that need to be ironed out. But there's nothing that can't be fixed if there are people acting in good faith to do so. Unfortunately, that's not the Republican way.

Isn't that the basic Republican MO?

"Solutions" in search of a problem, particularly when their only goal is to get nothing done......

Did he "intimidate" him?

Because we all know much McConnell was railing against Obama's "culture of intimidation" awhile back, right?

Part of me hopes that they actually go through with this

That will end their dreams of a Senate majority pretty quick IMHO.

Buckle up

It's going to be another bumpy ride- and just as we got our AAA credit rating back too.

Huh? What's happened?

Are they now able to launch a WMD attack on us in 45 minutes??? A more moderate govt just got elected. What a perfect opportunity to practice more diplomacy. Of course stuff like just gets in the way of having more wars.

The GOP should really do everything they can to make it succeed (hear me out)

that way, if it fails, they will truly be vindicated and can't be blamed. After all, they could legitimately say that they didn't stand in its way and gave it a chance to succeed. And hey, if they help make it successful, they can legitimately share in its success and can show how much "they" helped people- even if they don't do a damned thing other than not stand in its way.

Of course, I don't expect the GOP to heed my advice (and I don't expect ACA to fail without their "assistance", which will unfortunately create more suffering and headaches for the rest of us as the ACA gets implemented.
