Those illegal aliens

were brought to the country as children and born and raised here, never having a day in their “home” country. Why should they be punished with deportation now?

I agree

I can see the Courts shooting this thing down pretty quickly. Just the fact that he is even proposing something like this - under the guise of "civil rights"- is outrageous!

It's crazy

how loosely home schooling is. Now, I'm not saying that every home schooling situation is the same or bad or abusive, but if parents are going to take it upon themselves to school their children themselves, there should be *some* kind of minimal regulations to a.)Ensure that parents are capable of doing it themselves and have appropriate reasons for doing it (i.e. not using it to avoid having to parent and sending their kids to school) and b.)Children are actually completing some kind of reasonable educational curriculum and, well, learning the basics.

Got a few

1. Transformers The Movie (1986)- Deaths of so many major characters
2. The Neverending Story (1984)- Fantasia was almost completely destroyed, though it had a tacked on "happy ending"
3. Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)- Great movie but had quite the bittersweet ending (esp. with the real-life loss of Carrie Fisher). I'm still sort of processing through it all.
4. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005)- Destruction of the Jedi Order, Anakin's fall

Probably can think of a few more but this is all I can think of off the top of my head.

It's crazy

what all goes on right under people's noses. I hope that somebody can figure out a solution(s) to keep stuff like this from continuing to happen. It's probably asking for too much but there has got to be a better way to regulate home schooling so that somebody other than parents/family members can lay eyes on the kids being homeschooled once in a while. Or even just some increased scrutiny of things like running a "school" out of a home and who's in the home and if the children are actually learning.

Talk is cheap

If Flake, McCain, et. al want to demonstrate independence- REAL independence- from Trump, they need to speak out against his policies, vote against his agenda. The Republicans are not upset about Trump's policies per se, just that he's loud, brash, incompetent, and he's embarrassing them by being the "bull in a China shop" that Trump just is. THAT'S what they're upset about. They don't want him to stop signing the bills they manage to send him, however. Also, if they really cared about opposing Trump, they wouldn't be resigning either. They'd be staying to fight him.

Because nothing is more horrifying to them than showing

how LGBTQ persons are "normal and morally acceptable"

I agree that electing a Transgender person to Congress would be a BFD

but CM choosing this upcoming election and this particular seat to fight for doesn't make any sense to me. Why doesn't she find a Republican seat at the federal, state, or local level to start with? It's so weird how progressive activists always seem to target current Democratic officeholders moreso than Republican-held seats. Why is that?

The worst part about "know nothings"

is that they don't really care that they "know nothing", if they're not actually sort of proud of it.

I guess they think that some people want the "freedom to suffer and die" (and going bankrupt in the process) more than having to pay a few more dollars in taxes to ensure that they and their families can get healthcare whenever they need it without destroying them financially? It's almost like this imaginary "fear" that Republicans work to instill in people completely short circuits/overrides a person's capacity for critical thinking. And it's not even a fear that makes any sense in the first place. Either that or some people just think that they deserve their bad lot in life and think that suffering is the highest virtue. But I guess this explains how Republicans keep getting themselves elected over and over again. I once jokingly asked an acquaintance who lives in the "totalitarian" country of Canada how she feels living under the oppressive thumb of Justin Trudeau's "tyranny" and she just laughed.
