HRC should in no way be held responsible for Trump's behavior, either explicitly or implicitly.
If they dismiss the person
They can dismiss anything else they have to say and don't have to do anything.
McConnell *is* offensive
I'm surprised that the Senate is even that busy, given that no House bills are being considered. *What* are they doing (other than confirming Judges)?
I don't why an aquittal in the Senate would be an "exoneration"?
As long as Democrats (other than Manchin) don't vote to acquit as well. Republicans will put their reputations and credibility on the line for Trump give him a party-line acquittal, but will that ultimately mean much? Unless they make a blazingly awesome and powerful argument for doing so, it will just look like them continuing to enable and cover for Trump to most people (paying attention) IMHO.
I know that Biden is catching a lot of guff for his remarks and seeming delusional
but you have to look at it as trying to possibly bring in some disaffected Republican voters. I don't see how anybody gets elected in this country by demonizing a percentage of voters in the country, some of whom may be educable. Yeah, some are totally lost Trumpers/Magats and most Republican politicians may be totally irredeemable trash but, as much as we might want to, we just don't want to be the party that divides and polarizes the country.
This by no means an endorsement of Biden (who I don't support for POTUS) but I think that he understands this. And I would be very surprised if we end up running a candidate for POTUS in the GE who wouldn't at least pay some lip service to national unity and bipartisanship, even though they might know that most Republicans would sooner spit in their eyes rather than work together.
Eh. Why not impeach him?
While it's likely not going anywhere in the Senate because the Republican Party is as hopelessly corrupt/compromised as Trump is, the House still has the obligation to hold hearings and let the chips fall where they may irregardless of what anybody else does. And IMHO just sitting around and waiting for 2020 to vote him out without any repercussions doesn't do us any favor in terms of making the case for getting rid of him 2020 and Trump will just tout inaction as "vindication" and weakness.
That's the part of this that really bugs me
The Trump campaign was approached by/collaborated with prominent Russians with established connections to their government to get "dirt" on HRC and Democrats, but since it wasn't directly with Russian GOVERNMENT officials, then ergo, Trump didn't collude with the Russians to get assistance with getting elected (even though the Russian government clearly wanted Trump to win and Hillary to lose).
Also, the obstruction piece is important here too. Even if the Russian collusion angle fails, there are numerous instances of Trump and his minions at least attempting to obstruct the investigation. And Mueller didn't exonerate Trump of that. That alone should be enough to impeach IMHO. If Perjury over an affair was good enough to get Clinton, there's plenty more to get Trump with. And that's not even counting the alleged corruption and gross incompetence.
They might crow but everybody knows that it will be a totally partisan vote that "exonerates" him
Everybody will also get to hear Republicans twist themselves into all kinds of shapes and sizes on the public record to defend Trump in the House and Senate- and we might manage to at least get a couple to vote with us, bolstering the credibility of the charges.
I'd like to see their medical licenses
I feel like people legislating these restrictions/bans are essentially trying to practice medicine and few, if any of them, have absolutely no idea about how female reproductive systems work (most have likely been poorly educated about sexuality and reproduction in general) because if they did, what they're doing wouldn't make any sense.
