Prediction (re: Manchin and Sinema and SCOTUS)

They are going to inevitably be asked about their support for a potential SCOTUS pick by Biden. They will probably say some formulation of being willing to consider whoever he nominates but refrain from unequivocally and unconditionally supporting anybody until they see who it is and "careful review of their record" before announcing their vote. In other words, they won't be outwardly obstructionist but won't pledge their unconditional support either. In short, until the hearings start and the nomination proceeds to a vote, we won't really know where they will stand on a final vote. Take it to the bank.

+1

And then the Republican and right-wing tantrums will be used as proof of the "divisiveness" of any nominee- and likely be seized upon by Manchin and Sinema as reason to demand Biden nominate somebody else. And I'm not even mentioning the probable race and/or gender of any prospective nominees and the outrage and hysteria THAT will cause.

Exactly

He's ruined BBB and Federal voting rights legislation for the foreseeable future. IDGAF if he's mad that other people are (rightfully) mad at him and talking about it. Same goes for SINema.

Exactly! All of this!

Republicans say that they want "parental input" and "transparency" but what they are really trying to implement is make it so THEIR people- MAGAs, Qs- can create havoc in the schools with any and all curriculum that THEY disagree with and don't want taught. The obvious solution in all of this is for "concerned parents" to pull their kids out of school and home school them or send them to private schools (on their own dime) so that they can indoctrinate them in whatever "woo" they want to promote.

Why "Natural Immunity"?

Doesn't that imply that some people are just naturally immune (which nobody is AFAIK)? Why isn't it being referred to as something like "acquired immunity", since the immunity is conferred or acquired through infection?

Always money for

Tax cuts, election security, but Childcare, Climate Change, other "social infrastructure, etc. is always a bridge too far for them- and they get a few Democrats like Manchin and Sinema to go along with the same line.

Thinking back to the 1990's

when Newt Gingrich suddenly became nostalgic for the return of Orphanages.

But, really, most of them seem to have just subscribed to the "Underpants Gnomes" theory of banning abortion.

1. Ban abortion
2. ???????????
3. ???????????
4. Profit!!!

Oh boo hoo

Finding their ill-gotten gains a bit hollow, eh? Imagine how the rest of us are feeling right now, especially pregnant people.

Utterly insane

It's like a toddler blaming adults for not cleaning up the toys they are pulling right back out flinging back on to the floor.

Hopefully, people won't buy it but somehow I just can't feel confident that too many won't.
