Is it possible to overplay voter suppression? I think so.

If you see 30-40% turnout and say "Whoa, too many people voted! VOTER FRAUD!"...

And

If your vision consists, not of running on sound ideas and good candidates, but of hoping the people who probably won't vote for you just stay home or turn away because of long lines...

Then at what point do WE say...

These are not the actions of a legitimate political party?
They have pushed so many people aside from the polls and have no claims to "mandates"?
They are no longer seeking the consent of the governed and therefore no longer have it?

I don't get it; doesn't making it harder to vote, seeing low turnout as an accomplishment...

Doesn't that put MORE power and leverage into the hands of a person or persons who would actually commit voter fraud?

If we were to have 100% turnout, if everyone who votes should, then they would cancel out illegitimate voters

AND if we were to have 100% turnout, and someone does and actually commits voter fraud, then an abnormality would appear, you can't get that as a diagnostic with 55% turnout, as we got in the 2016 election

If you want to see just low the right wing can sink, check out what my Twitter associate is doing

https://twitter.com/Burnoatus/status/1375484743890956292

Start there, and read the replies, he is really only trying to do one thing:

Right-winger: Homosexuality is a perversion
Burnoatus: Slavery is the perversion!
Right-winger: Well...

Go down just a little bit and you'll start to see just that.

Also, if you are on Twitter, be sure to support the #SuddenlySilentAboutCancelCulture and #NeverCalledThugs hashtags we're promoting.

The former is about noticing when the people decry "cancel culture" suddenly go silent, a recent bill being proposed in Tennessee is showing them do just that. And the latter is about noticing when certain people AREN'T called "thugs" or "animals" when they do certain things that would
get certain OTHER people called just that. Everyone's favorite representative ( ), Marjorie Taylor Greene is making a lot of appearances here, it's being noticed that she, sure enough, used "thug" to describe the shooter in Colorado but did not use that label for the shooter in her own district... in fact, to date, she has said nothing about the shooter in her own district. Funny, right?

Hey, wouldn't voter fraud be easier to detect if turnout was SUPPOSED to be 100%?

Instead of making it harder to vote...

If everybody voted and it raised a red flag when someone didn't...

You'd get 100%, a number that you NEED to have across the entire country.

Any number other than 100, there's something wrong:

A policy failure
Record keeping failure
And if that number is higher than 100, in addition to census records not matching up, it could indeed be a case of voter fraud

But no, apparently the only way to combat voter fraud is to make it harder to vote, right?

I think I have a solution to "cancel culture" that will please everyone... Cancel Culture Income

Conservatives are never going to stop talking about "cancel culture"

We have right-wing actors who are convinced they don't get hired because of their lack of skill but because of cancel culture

And as for gay people fired from jobs for being gay? Well... we're not going to talk about that for some reason. Is it cancel culture according to conservatives though? Well.....

I have a solution that will blunt the effects of mean ol' cancel culture: Cancel Culture Income

Step 1. Get a tally of all lost income due to being cancel-cultured (?) or canceled? I dunno, but get a sum of that as well as get an estimate of all the lost potential income that one could REASONABLY expect that they would have gotten over their lifetime of earning had they not been canceled. In addition to conservatives who allege they were "canceled"; people who were fired for being gay, transgender, too "tempting", etc. will also be included in this tally.

Step 2. From this, grab a random sample, 100,000 maximum sounds good. Out of that 100,000 sample, get the money one would have gotten on an annual basis and break it down to a monthly basis. How much money would the "canceled"/discriminated-against have gotten each month?

Step 3. Since we are told cancel culture is so pervasive and so great a threat to our way of life, the only way we can blunt it's effects, is to make this a guaranteed monthly stipend if one does not make or have the month-to-month amount through other means; income, savings, investments, etc. This way anyone who could potentially become "canceled" is now protected against deleterious effects it may have.

It's getting desperate out there, you know it's bad when they plead with Gen X to rise up and put a stop to it. If you are afraid of cancel culture, there is a way to stop it, it's with a:

Guaranteed Minimum... In case of and/or to stop financial damage from cancel culture... Income

I expect those terrified of cancel culture to immediately get behind this.

If the term "cancel culture" existed throughout history

They're trying to cancel slavery

Cancel Culture is at it again, about to cancel the horse and buggy

Cancel the telegraph... REALLY?

You can't cancel phrenology, no, don't!

You don't see hysteria as a diagnosis anymore, it's clearly another victim of Cancel Culture

RIP Alchemy, a victim of the Cancel Culture craze

Guess what they're about to do child labor! Go ahead!

After the disastrous Unite the Right rally, I remember I posted something...

To the effect of the alt/far right's ideal version of their plans to purge everyone they did not like would involve NO guards, NO fences, NO minefields, nothing.

It would be US saying "We could stop them, this does not have to happen... but we'd need a permit to do so. Oh well."

I think this is still relevant today.

Why?

Because in 2024, I am convinced Donald Trump will secure the Republican Party's nomination. This is a textbook case of sunk-cost fallacy in play. Trump has lost them the House, the White House, and the Senate. Trump mismanaged the response to this pandemic. Trump spoke of ending "American carnage" but handled white nationalist terrorists with kid gloves. And... he is still their man, other than a half-hearted attempt by McConnell, there has been no real attempt to wash their hands clean of Trump. And we will see this play out in 2024.

And will he go on to become president? Will Marjorie Taylor Greene become Speaker of the House? Will they join forces to freeze the assets of mass shooting survivors because they are all "crisis actors paid by George Soros"? Will they declare war on "antifa" and people who say "black lives matter"? Will they sell Alaska to Putin so Trump can avoid bankruptcy (again)?

We don't have to find out about this happening. We can stop it here, right now.

It involves us NOT being complacent.
It involves us being active.
It involves us making a stink and rattling some cages.
It involves us deplatforming the worst of the worst, people and organizations who will not be convinced by any argument or logic.
It involves us continuing to fight for healthcare and wage reform. And fighting even harder against economic inequality.
It involves us continuing to HUMANIZE immigrants, refugees, and GLBTQ Americans.
It involves us continuing to resist the far-right and groups like the Council for National Policy.
It involves us NOT shrugging our shoulders.

It is us not going to sleep and saying "Other people can handle it now."

There is no more spectator politics, there is no "sit back and enjoy the show", not if you do not want Trump and Greene in the highest positions of power. Don't say it's impossible, not again.

I'm not going to wait for a permit.

Is it "healing" or is it "pulling an Oliver North"/"pulling an Elliott Abrams"?

Named in honor of two of the guys who undermined the law to give government resources to the Contras and then were pardoned so "the country could move forward"?

Healing:
* Accountability
* Investigations
* Sanctions where there need to be sanctions
* Denouncing white nationalists, no, that does not mean conspiracy theories about antifa. No, that does not mean making people who say black lives matter the "other side" of that. A component of healing is... denounce. white. nationalists.
* A declaration that the president is not selected by God. We need to call to reject this modern version of the divine right of kings. Time is a factor here, healing will mean do it before January 20.
* An open denouncing of baseless conspiracy theories like QAnon and especially that the election was stolen. If one conspiracy theory is denounced, it needs to be that the election is stolen
* An honest discussion about why certain protesters are treated with kid gloves
* How does *this* not happen again?

vs

Pulling an Oliver North/Pulling an Elliott Abrams:
* Mass pardon the people who stormed the capitol
* A lot of "but both sides" for things where there weren't both sides
* Reinstate Trump's Twitter account
* Reinstate the fired police officers tied to the slaying of Breonna Taylor
* Clear Trump's impeachments from the public record, find a way to un-impeach him. For both times.
* "... uh, that's it", is probably what they'll say

We need to make it clear, healing does not mean "pulling an Oliver North"!

Anti-Muslim "national security organization" ACT! for America really dropped the ball here

So many questions...

This "national security organization" didn't spot all the antifa infiltrators amidst the "we" in Chapter 1? Whoa, that's a serious problem.
Not a single lick of information that antifa was supposedly going to infiltrate this event beforehand? Really?
It took them a day to join in blaming antifa for the violence?
And what's with all the people replying to ACT with justifications for the violence? Are people like... *checking notes* "LeftistsRTheEnemy" part of antifa?

Excuse me, I'm gonna go ahead and pull your "national security" card...

These people aren't "unheard Americans", they aren't REALLY protesting that

Had Donald Trump won, then four years from now, the Capitol would be in the same place as it is today.

Just replace "LOSS to Biden" with "We want to get rid of the 22nd Amendment", "Trump should be President-for-life", "dissolve Congress", etc.

And then add 4 years of militias forming and training, of stockpiling guns, of making bombs, of casing Congress, and of getting indoctrinated in murdering people. For all we know, that might have given them time to get a small nuclear device into the halls of Congress. They could succeed if they had 4 years of training and developing.

Every day as January 20 approaches, I am more and more secure in my conviction that the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris saved the country.
