That "mental illness" that Republicans and the NRA blame shootings on is a byproduct of, well, them

They run on paranoia - They tell people to be afraid of the 'other' (Whether it's people of different colors, different religions, if they are immigrants, of different sexualities, etc.) or that everyone you don't like, and George Soros, are all connected in some nebulous conspiracy against you. They run on telling people that the 'other' is coming to take your money, your job, your life, etc.

They run on delusions other than just paranoia - They tell people that everything is fake, everything is a lie, everyone is out to get you, don't trust what you see, Trump and the Evangelicals are the greatest people ever. Trump is the only one in the whole world who can fix things. People aren't real, they're actors. Events aren't real, they're made up, false flags, fake news, etc. They either run on, promote, or just sit and nod while people like Alex Jones crank out bizarro conpsiracy theories.

They run on the deadly cocktail of anxiety and depression - They tell people things like "America's best days are behind it", that's there nothing to look forward to, that the past was the best time, the present sucks, and the future could only be great if it's some simulation of the past.

Picture the toxic person - Not the mentally ill person, but the person who says wanting help makes you weak, that men shouldn't show emotions like sadness, dismisses counselors and therapy as frauds, gets a mentally ill person a gun instead of thorazine, enables and excuses conspiracy theories instead of getting that person help, and more. Picture that person, now who do they vote for? Let's be honest.

Do Republicans cause mental illness? No. But they are definitely not treating it and they get in the way of treating it over and over.

It's funny how we demand immigrants "assimilate" but the majority party courts the least-assimilated

I mean they wave a flag of a faction that broke away from our government - Seems the opposite of assimilation to me.

They are, for lack of a better word, paranoid about their fellow Americans if they are different colors, religions, of a different sexuality, etc.

They are antagonistic, sometimes just to be antagonistic, to institutions in our country: Whether it's the media, fact checkers, watchdogs, the medical community, and more. It's to the point where they are proud of this distrust.

They can't accept the US as it is in the year 2018, they prefer the US magically go back to some era that only exists in their minds.

We do have an assimilation problem in this country - But the Republican Party and Fox News simply calls them "forgotten Americans".

The original MAGABomber

Lawyers for a man convicted of a terrorist plot to bomb a Kansas apartment complex are blaming President Trump for stoking their client’s fiery rhetoric about Muslims.

Attorneys for Patrick Stein — who was found guilty of planning to kill Muslim residents of Garden City, Kansas — claimed that Trump’s “brand of rough-and-tumble verbal pummeling” contributed to Stein’s homicidal thoughts.

“The court cannot ignore the circumstances of one of the most rhetorically mold-breaking, violent, awful, hateful and contentious presidential elections in modern history, driven in large measure by the rhetorical China shop bull who is now our president,” the lawyers wrote in a sentencing memo filed on Monday.

The lawyers are asking for a lesser sentence in part due to the argument that Stein was a Trump supporter and the president inflamed Stein’s anti-immigrant hatred — ultimately influencing the man’s attack plans.

Republican conspiracy theories are coming home to roost

Whether it's Pizzagate, QAnon, the "deep state", school shootings all being staged by "crisis actors", white genocide, George Soros and the Je... Globalists doing nefarious things, the thing with the left, the immigrants, the Je... Globalists, the Muslims, the Media, the Obamas, the Clintons, and the Martian Sex Colonists all working together in some secret volcano lair, etc.

Republicans created them, Republicans promoted them, Republicans ran on them, Republicans chanted "lock em up", Republicans benefited from them, and even if Republicans didn't run on them other Republicans just smiled and nodded when others did it for them, and Republicans didn't and continue to refuse to denounce them.

How much more blood on their hands are Republicans OK with? How much more terror do Republicans want?

If they want to overturn Roe v Wade, shouldn't post Roe v Wade kids be as expensive for the govt

and for the right wing as much as humanly possible?

Don't get me wrong... I love children, this is about making sure their lives have value in the face of an ideology that says they don't, especially if they are black lives that are apparently interchangeable and worth less than a confederate statue.

Let's say abortion is made illegal, we've got secret networks of people getting women access to abortion and birth control, so what do we do for the children already born?

These are just some things we can do, starting today, that will make us and future children expensive for right wing authoritarians and the nationalist cult...

Counter-recruitment - Right wing evangelicals see poor children as cannon fodder to die against Gog and Magog (Formerly Russia now the Muslims because Russia is now our BFF apparently) to bring in the "end times". Teach children starting today to be suspicious of joining the military, let's deny them the cannon fodder they need for the apocalypse.

Debt (Esp. medical debt) - Don't pay bills, don't pay medical bills. And if you do pay, pay as slowly as possible. Imagine if everyone did this, we'd find out what's greater, sanctity of life or the almighty dollar soon enough.

Don't run away from their labels - Don't be afraid of "liberal" or "politically correct", chuckle at it. When they call you "socialist", you say "OK, and?" The right wing keeps moving what they call "socialism" to the center. When we were younger, "socialism" was "Oh you must want universal healthcare", today "socialism" is "Oh you are with the school shooting survivors", and I'm pretty sure that when our own kids in politics "socialism" will be "Oh you don't want to throw virgins into volcanoes to appease the Dow and the job creators?"

Education - Sure the DeVos Department of Education wants to turn schools into the Department of Cheap Labor. This can be resisted though. Libraries, teach the children about fallacies that brought the right wing into power. Not to mention a little vitamin W. Teach kids to to ask who? Where? What? When? And every authoritarian's worst nightmare... Why? (So don't be upset if your own kids ask you why) Be a thorn in the side of those with power and teach kids to do the same.

It's OK to complain - We need to adopt an attitude that it's OK to complain about things, to tell authority figures they are doing something wrong, to find flaws in their thinking, to find problems, to find errors or to find things that make things unsafe or harmful. Adopt an attitude that it's not OK to live in an unsafe world, with contradictions, or with double standards. Find an authority figure, complain to them, if someone else has a similar complaint, don't say "well the previous person already said X", you agree with that person and restate the complaint in your own words. Call up legislators and complain to them. Complain at Town Halls. Complain to other people about what the government is doing. Complain to the media. Complain to the people who run health insurance companies. Complain to the boards of corporations. Note contradictions, note holes in records, ask when the timetable on something is going to be. Complain. Complain. Complain.

It's OK to lie - That's right, now don't lie just to lie, but I think we need to start saying it's OK to lie to people who don't already value the truth, your life, or your time. It's OK to lie to white supremacists. It's OK to lie to lie to right wing evangelicals. It's OK to lie to rape apologists. It's OK to lie to people to people who say your life matters less than a confederate flag. Thing is, I hang out with liberal Muslims and I see right wingers and trolls throw 'taqiyya' around a lot, the thing where Muslims can lie if their lives are in danger. But even if so, I think it would be right to lie though... all of our lives are in danger. But because they think ANYTHING a Muslim says is automatically 'taqiyya', they look like fools after a very short time and the way they talk about it, they even write like they are exhausted. It's because paranoia is mentally expensive. And if we're always lying to them, it will make them paranoid, make them expend mental resources.

Respect is earned - No authority figure deserves your respect or your children's respect just because they are in a position or because they have a nice last name. Franklin Graham is a nutjob, he doesn't deserve respect just because he is related to Billy Graham. Teach kids respect can be earned or taken away, make figures work for it. On that note, what is the "Office of the President" doing to earn your respect?

Unity - Now this isn't about hugging a Trump supporter, I'm not going to say that. But we're cheapened collectively when we are broken and we're cheaper when the poor white man is pitted against the poor black man. Make sure your circle of loved ones includes people from different colors, of different religions, of different genders, of different sexual orientations, etc.

Value - Teach kids lives have value. Every life matters, that black lives matter, GLBTQ lives matter, no matter who they are teach them their lives matter more than money or how the Dow Jones is doing.

Vote - Vote early, vote often, and take your kids with you to vote.

And I'm sure there are other ways too, let's start being expensive. Let's make our kids expensive.

Trump supporters aren't immoral or even amoral, they do have moral values

It's just that their moral values consist of...

* A heterosexual sex offender is still 'better' than a law abiding GLBTQ person.

* GLBTQ people adopting children is a "social experiment" but children aging out of foster care is... we don't know... maybe something bad, but not THAT bad

* Immigrants and Muslims need to "assimilate" but people who blame everyone else for bad things in their lives, attack other people, don't trust civic institutions, and more are just "ignored Americans".

* "Good national security" means "Sure there is a mass shooter, but hey, the mass shooter is a white guy, so... win".

* The lowest white man is still superior to any woman and/or person of color.

* We are a Christian nation and that apparently means Franklin Graham and Pat Robertson need more money and power.

* Don't remind people that conservatives who are now enthralled by Russia used to call it "Gog and Magog"

* Reminding people that the same Evangelicals who supported the Iraq War that started in 2003 because they thought it would usher in the "end times" now support Trump is just you being in the tank for liberalism.

* Socialism is bad. And things that have been labeled as "socialism" over the years included the policies of Barack Obama, surviving a school shooting, and not acting like Patrick Bateman from American Psycho. Don't be a socialist, OK?

* When someone says "All Lives Matter", don't point to a group of refugees who need help. Don't. Just don't.

Hope that helps.

Can you do the Make America Great Again Challenge?! Pass this on

So when was America great before? What does that mean exactly? Sometimes you get vague replies of some before-time that was apparently so awesome it knocked your socks off, I remember a video of a Trump supporter chuckling and then saying "Well... before the gays", so I decided to help Trump supporters out.

Pick the year America was great and give up the horrible things associated with everything after that, and please add as you see fit.

2015 - Same sex marriage legalized in all states and territories

2013 - Black Lives Matter movement

2008 - First black president

2006 - Twitter founded (Give it up)

2004 - Facebook founded

2003 - Same sex sexual activity made legal in all states and territories

1991 - World Wide Web is open to the public

1973 - Roe v Wade

1968 - Last year it is legal to discriminate against someone trying to buy or rent because of the color of their skin

1954 - Last year it is legal to have separate schools for white and black students

1950 - BEST YEAR EVER (Excluding Roy Moore Voters)

1940 - About half of Americans have indoor plumbing (Flip a coin to see if you still have it, heads you do, tails you give it up)

1928 - Penicillin (Give antibiotics up)

1920 - Women get the right to vote

1916 - First billionaire in the US (So give up your already fantasy dreams of being a billionaire)

1914 - First flight service with passengers

1902 - First modern air conditioning unit

1885 - The first car

1868 - Being born in the US means you are a citizen

1865 - Still legal to own black people as slaves

1860 - The year right before the Civil War started, this is when America was great according to Roy Moore

1846 - Anesthesia in surgery

1776 - US declares independence from Britain

Before 1776 - First Muslims in America

Can Trump supporters dare to make America great again and live without the people... and things... after the year they say America is great?

Are you going to be a 'good American' and boo and hiss when you hear "socialist" or "liberal"?

Because you're supposed to... That's what normal people do according to the groups I am going to mention next.

Years of conditioning by Fox News, talk radio, right wing pundits, radical right groups seeping into the mainstream, right wing religious leaders, politicians, media, astroturf efforts, etc. have led to this.

You're supposed to boo and hiss the liberal, the socialist and the perceived 'socialist', the Democrat, GLBTQ people, the poor, the person with pre-existing conditions, the refugee, the Muslim, the black civil rights activist, the activist in general, anyone who is against system justification, etc.

Years spent normalizing and creating outrage, finding the one person who is most outraged about these groups who doesn't look like a deranged killer, making opposition to these 'other' groups seem normal and more normal than these 'other' groups, associating hating these 'other' groups with pleasant-sounding groups like the Family Research Council, making it seem abnormal to associate with these 'other' groups (Who wants to be a snowflake, right?), providing rewards and 'rewards' like with feeling a sense of belonging or a vague notion of 'national security', providing a scapegoat for their troubles, etc. I could go on and on... this isn't political, this is purely physiological in many ways.

Here's the thing: We can argue what socialism is and what the definition of it is until the cows come home. We can move to the center or, heck, even be on the right. You can be the perfect anti-socialist. We can have tough border policies. We can do all sorts of things to appeal to people on the other side of the aisle. But as we approach November, here's what will happen... Fox News, Breitbart News, Republican politicians, the White House, Christian right leaders, and others of the first group I mentioned will say "SOCIALIST", "DIRTY LIBERAL", "OPEN BORDERS", etc. and it will be just like Pavlov ringing the bell, one segment of Americans will go into visceral hatred of the 'other' (AKA you), and another segment will not say anything because they don't want to make a scene or look 'different'.

We've got to call it out, we've got to cause the 'extinction' of this conditioning. That's all there is to it, refusing to be a 'good American' is a first step, because I'm not going to wait for 'heretic against Trump or Trumpism' to be the next bell.

RW: Democrats need to stop bringing up Russa... yet Trump has tweeted more about Russia than Dems

That's right, I waded into Trump's twitter account just for an experiment I thought you all might find find interesting using the ctrl+F function.

Trump: Tweeted about "Russia" 28 times in the month of July at the time of this experiment

And for comparison:
Nancy Pelosi: Tweeted about "Russia" 19 times in the month of July at the time of this experiment
The Democrats (Official twitter account for the Democratic Party): Tweeted about "Russia" 20 times in the month of July at the time of this experiment

But Democrats keep getting told voters in the midwest aren't talking about Russia though, right?

Be sure to use this when you see a right winger making one of those memes where concern about Russia is dismissed, thanks.

Vladimir Putin is not a stupid man, when he talked about "George Soros", he was gloating

“You have a lot of individuals in the United States, take George Soros, for instance, with multibillion capitals, but does it make him — his position, his posture, the posture of the United States? No, it does not,” Putin said.

George Soros is the Emmanuel Goldstein of the right wing, he's that shadowy figure who controls everything.

There is George Soros, the mortal man.

And then there is "GEORGE SOROS!!!", the illusion the hard right uses to justify fear and as they make conspiracy theories up about as a "deep state" and Soros, and liberals, and Jews, and immigrants, and Muslims, and GLBTQ people, and the EU, and Martians, and Antifa, and Pizzagate, and Satanists, and the kids who survive school shootings, and the Freemasons, and on and on are all conspiring against them.

When they frame it about Soros and the Deep State, they don't have to talk about the Council for National Policy or Groundswell.

When they frame it about Pizzagate, they don't have to talk about Josh Duggar.

"GEORGE SOROS!!!", not George Soros, is the mirror of the right wing. This constructed image of George Soros is as much a part of the extreme right wing as confederate flags, "good national security" meaning "Yeah there's a mass shooter, but the shooter's not Muslim, so win!" or "If you get sick and don't have health insurance, just don't make a mess as you die, k? Thanks."

And so... what are hackers to the Putinist regime?
