If Republicans didn't destroy themselves today, then America is over

Today, the mask came off.

Lindsey Graham, Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton and others, would have felt right at home in Germany of 1939, or in any pig sty of your choosing. Their display of racism, anti-feminism, and outright disrespect and contempt for another human being was beyond mind-blowing. It gave credence to the theory that there's no intelligent life on this planet.

If any Democrat ever treated another human being the way Judge Jackson was treated today by Republicans, none would be able to get elected to any office imaginable. Ever.

Of course, Republicans were talking to their base and not the woman they were verbally trying to smear with horrendous garbage. And therein is a snapshot of what today's Republican Party is. It's okay to be a racist. It's okay to be a bigot. It's okay to hate the "OTHER." It's okay to be a bully. It's okay to spit on someone because you have the power to spit on them. It's okay to be a total shit because millions of morons will love it and will vote for you.

The path these Republicans have taken holds no mysteries. We know where it will lead because they've passed every signpost that history has shown us to be deadly to human beings. But they don't give a rat's ass because they believe that we, the majority, can't do one fucking thing to stop their lust for power and the abuse of it. And they may be right.

Winning this November and in November of 2024 is more than a necessity. It's survival. If we lose, we may never again see another election in this country. America, our democracy and our freedoms could/might/will come to an end. That is exactly what the Republicans showed us yesterday and today. If you don't see that at this point, then I'll stop here because further words would be meaningless.

I dread the hearings.

I can't bring myself to watch the Ketanji Brown Jackson hearings.

I'm sure Tom Cotton dreams of a world in which he owns a huge plantation with countless slaves, and the only rules/laws are those he himself makes.

And I'm also certain that Josh Hawley fantasizes about an "Amusement Park" named "Auschwitz."

These two beasts questioning Judge Jackson is mind-boggling. After WWII, the world said "Never Again." But shits like Cotton and Hawley show that they're well down the road to "Again" and "Again" and "Again."

I'll catch clips of this horror show tonight on TV. I know Judge Jackson will handle herself wonderfully, but I can't watch her being interrogated by maggots from a different moral universe.
