Who left the cake out in the rain?

and does anyone have the recipe?

Who will replace Bachmann as the Republican poster child?

I've edited the post to add a poll since there seems to be a rapidly developing consensus about the top runners!

If school districts in tornado alley won't build storm shelters for the kids,

can OSHA require they be built for the employees? What about private employers?

Ever feel like you have a target painted on you?

Severe thunderstorms have been passing just to the north and just to the south of me for the last two days!

Let me get all this straight re: Lois Learner

1. She is a Bush Appointee

2. She is in charge of the people who (supposedly) targeted the Tea Party.

3. She didn't re-direct those people, but rather fed the story to the Press - she whistle blew on herself

4. Now she's taking the 5th.

Do I have all that right?

Is this an attempt to embarrass Obama that is rapidly blowing up in the face(s) of the plotter(s)?

For those who think now is not the time to discuss tornado protection -

what is the date of the Joplin tornado?

How many people were killed?

how many houses were destroyed?

My point is that we have so much information coming at us each day, it's hard to stay focused. Would the Moore, Oklahoma tornado be as big a story if it hadn't hit a school?

There is a Federal program to provide 75% of the funding to build storm shelters in schools:

http://www.joplinglobe.com/local/x1451002518/School-storm-shelters-could-house-20-000-people-as-well-as-students

some quick Googling suggests that there is aid for private residences as well:

Everyone needs to keep asking right now why storm shelters aren't in place throughout Tornado Alley. I'm uncertain whether the Federal Aid is available before an area is declared a disaster zone. If it isn't, it should be.

Storm chasers - is it time for them to stop?

Twenty some years ago, there were very few films of tornadoes. Back then, storm chasers provided very important information for those attempting to design early warning systems. But today, aren't storm chasers mostly the worst kind of lookie-loos? People trying to get out of the way of tornadoes or officials trying to assess damage shouldn't have to deal with people who are driving wildly around the country side in order to film disaster porn.

Question on a broody hen -

I placed my broody hen on a nest in the isolation cage about 24 days ago. This is a small cage I keep for hens that need a rest. She hatched 4 healthy chicks who are mostly hiding under her wings. they have food and water. So far, she seems more interested in continuing to sit the remaining 3 eggs than anything else.

Should I move her and the chicks? Steal the eggs? Leave them alone?

I have never seen such a magnificent year for my Spring flowering plants -
