Yes, Scientologists sure do believe some ridiculous stuff.

It's a relief all those other religions are so logical and sensible!

Choice and Freedom are not dirty words.

Defending them is nothing to apologize for.

This thread is a perfect example of the weird thought policing that this place has devolved into.

I'm reading the book right now, and as far as I can tell it's a pretty objective look at some of the dynamics of the campaign, it covers the successes as well as some of the shortcomings- and look, I thought Al Gore should have won in 2000, you can definitely make a case for everyone from Ralph Nader to Jeb Bush fucking it up for him... but his campaign still made mistakes. Kerry should have won, but his campaign made mistakes. Fuck, Mike Dukakis-- should have won! But his campaign made mistakes.

I'm not sure why "Hillary's campaign made mistakes" is such a controversial assertion, but there you go.

Looking over this thread, though, you would think this book was 300 pages of Milo Yiannanopolis and Ann Coulter yelling about Benghazi.

A true "guardian and protector of the mind" as Dylan would put it- and 1st Amedment HERO

Important to honor such types in days like these when misguided censorship-minded authoritarians would try and tell others what they can read, watch, say, draw, write, publish, film, or think.

I guess that's not hugely surprising.

Although it could be substance abuse- I know some alcoholics who are at least as batty sounding when they're on a good bender.

I'd say probably half the "florida man/woman" stories are probably mental illness or substance abuse, as well. When the guy takes too much acid and decides a BMW is a balrog, we all laugh.

But, yeah... I hear you. I'll S/D the thread with a copy of the OP, below for recordkeeping sake. Since people know who she is and she has some sort of running mental problem, the piling on isn't necessarily fair.

RESTAURANT FREAKOUT IN SANTA MONICA

..because why should Florida get all the fun?

https://boingboing.net/2017/04/03/restaurant-freakout-in-santa-m.html

From article:

Last night my girlfriend of four years and I were waiting patiently for a lady to order her food at this restaurant in Santa Monica, and I had my arms around her from behind and maybe kissed her on the top of the head once or twice, but that was the extent of it.

Out of nowhere, the lady (who was finalizing her transaction) looks at us and exclaims emphatically how inappropriate PDA was and how uncomfortable it was making her. I thought she was joking because of how little we were actually making contact. I turned and kissed my girlfriend on the cheek and made a loud smack, and thatís where she really lost it. I immediately knew I had to get this on camera, so thatís about where the video picks up.

...this person seems oddly familiar. I wonder if I've encountered her myself, somewhere.
