Turn off the microphones during the next 2 debates?

Perhaps something Republicans and Democrats could agree on??? Turn off the mikes for the person who was not asked the question during the 2 minutes allotted to answer the question. Turn both mikes back on during the follow up questions.

Anyone have reason why this should not be done? Anyone think this would not make the debate better?

There are more than 60 death row inmates on Federal Death Row...

The odds are long and the time will be long before we see a Federal execution, the last one was in 2003 and there are currently on death row: 62 (as of 2014) Total number executed: 37 (1927-2003).

There are more than 3,000 in the US total last year, 35 were executed.

For those who support the DP, you have your wish. For those opposed, it is very possible Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will die before he is executed.

WTF Eventbrite and your "I'm not home rob me" emails?

I just noticed I'm getting emails from #Eventbrite informing me that people I barely know are attending specific events at specific times. Eventbrite is sending out notices that basically say "I'm not home, come rob me" without my consent.

When you check in on Facebook Google+, Yelp, 4Square, etc. it's not the same thing. On those services you can decide you want to let people know where you are and you can control who sees it and if you want to do it.

EVENTBRITE IS MAKING PUBLIC YOUR EVENTS WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND PROACTIVELY DISTRIBUTING THAT INFORMATION THROUGH THEIR EMAILS.

I WILL NEVER BOOK ANOTHER EVENT THROUGH EVENTDUMB UNTIL I KNOW THIS HAS STOPPED.

I can't believe that they do this.

We were, we are and we will always be a racist country with less bigotry in our future.

I am a racist.

I am a minority. I believe that races, nationalities, religions and many more factors shape who you are. You have many things in common with the group you are in and many differences with the groups of people you are not in.

I am not a bigot.

I do not distrust, dislike, hate, avoid or discriminate against people who are different than me. I do have a prejudiced dislike of just about any religion that has "Fundamentalist" included in the description.

I wish the word "racist" was not associated with hate. I want a word to that acknowledges our differences, because they are real. "Bigot" works for those who hate based on race. I want a word for those who respect diversity, but believe diverse groups are literally that - diverse and different.

I'm hopeful. I think the outrage of any incident of racial injustice getting the attention that we are seeing is positive and will lead to less atrocities.

If you think things are worse now than they used to be in this country, you could not be more wrong. Things are getting better and they will continue to do so as long as we keep on being outraged, keep on protesting, keep on bringing to shame and justice those bigots who hate, hurt and kill.

I'm very proud of our President's words, he condemned the violence, supported the outrage and outlined a path to improvement, who could ask for more?

Choosing to be objectified as a Sports Illustrated model is progress.

The ability to decide to use your body, image or likeness in any way you choose, for whatever compensation you would like, is progressive. The annual freak out over the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue is such a waste of energy and time.

Seriously, women who want to do this should, without judgment. If they want to "exploit" themselves, who are we to judge? Men who want to enjoy this type of "photographic" art should be free to pay their money and do so without judgment. Again, who are we to judge.

Let's let those who choose to live in the model/fantasy world just go about their business without the NSA/right wing style finger pointing. Isn't tolerance for all personal behavior that does not harm others a righteous goal?

Are swimsuits, body paint, an occasional nipple glimpse on a wet body worth getting upset about?

We live in a 1 click world that gets us video sex anywhere, anytime on any device for anybody. Are we really going to have indignation at bikinis in 2014?

Michael Sam comes out and his Dad is having a tough time with it. In the NFL, opinions are not welcome, quirkiness can only be overcome by vast talent, the cogs in the NFL machine are all meant to fit together and squeaky wheels are discarded.

Michael THE MAN Sam deserves to be credited and supported more than I can describe. The NFL, the jock/locker room culture might not matter to you but there is a much bigger issue here. I'm a huge follower and fan of football so it matters to me. This is an amazing event that will help move America in the correct (not "right&quot direction.

He will be blasted for not being able to shed blockers and pressure the quarterback. He will be a hero if he helps his team win. He will be hated and he will be loved for being publicly gay. Some day, if you ask Michael "What do you do?", he'll say "I play for the Chargers&quot I can hope).


He has already changed the sports world. Let's bless and support him and those who draft him in any way we can.

I wish I could buy stock in his jersey sales, I'd be rich.

...does a commercial that is premeditated manipulation and they get praise? Come on people, this is an Atlanta based, US company that really is a primary contributor to global obesity and malnutrition.

They do a Super Bowl $6 million dollar + commercial that was a focus group tested creation from the masters of manipulation on Madison Ave.. So, they get a pass & praise because it was multilingual and had a possible gay couple in it?

I fell for it until I thought about it.

We are suckers of the corporate media tit. Enjoy the empty calories.

Chris Kluwe looks set to file a suit against the NFL/Vikings.

“Chris Kluwe stands up for what he believes is right, even if it costs him personally to do so,” Minneapolis lawyer Clayton Halunen, who will represent Kluwe, said in a statement. “It’s obvious to me, as it should be to most thinking people familiar with the situation, that Chris paid a steep price for speaking out in favor of same-sex marriage rights in 2012 while he was a Vikings player. Ultimately it may have cost him both his job with the Vikings and his career as an NFL player, along with much emotional anguish over what he believed to be a kind of personal attack on him for his views on a vital issue of human rights."

I believe and hope he will sue for wrongful termination, settle/win and consequently pick up a few more millions to augment his career NFL punter's earnings. The dramatic lawsuit will make Chris Kluwe a very high profile EX NFL player and will most likely lead to multiple media interviews, exposure and will hopefully lead to a more permanent media career. At that point, Chris can lead from the front and promote his political and social agenda.

Good for him, he has it figured out and I applaud his genius.
